Adding GF request to existing ADRs?

Hi,
We have already booked our ADRs for our first trip to WDW in November and noted our son's needs related his lactose intolerance. However, test results are pointing to Celiac disease for DFi.
Is there a way to add a gluten-free request to existing ADRs? Or do I have to cancel and book them again?

You should be able to call Dining and have the notation made on your ADRs. No need to cancel and rebook; in fact, depending on how popular your ADRs are, you might lose them in the time between the cancel/rebook.

Honestly you don't really need to list it. Whether or not it's listed you need to check that they have it when you check in, so you can just tell them at check in and the chef will come out. For GF/DF you don't really need to make contact in advance. My son has 9 different allergies (if tree nuts are a cohesive set) and this year some of my ADR's had nothing listed and I never bothered to email special diets- everything worked just the same as it did in previous years. The only meal he was unhappy with was a place that usually does great, so it was just bad luck with the chef that day.

It is super easy to call Disney Dining and have them add a notation to the reservation. (You can also do this if you have a celebration since they took that option off the website.) The cast members on the phone have always been super nice and helpful.

We did have an ongoing issue during our visits--waiters would try to explain the menu without getting a Chef involved and often spoke incorrectly about what was safe/not safe. I was quick to get a manager then and we would see a chef after that. Still we did have Chefs who could not get that tree nuts and peanuts are different things and would lump them together as "nuts." But that was a small issue.
