Adding DVC Membership card to iPhone Wallet

Just wanted to add my DVC membership card to the Wallet of my iPhone. It shows up in the MDE app, I then click "Add" and it asks if I want to put it into the Wallet. When I then click add again, it tells me "Apple Pay not available". However, my creditcard is visible and active in the Wallet and I just used it.

Any ideas?

Should definitely work on that. Other things I can think of is you must have an unlock PIN code (required for Apple Pay which you already use), Face ID is probably optional, and 2-factor authentication enabled. If all of these are already setup, you may need to reach out to Tech Support for the MDE mobile app.

Is there any way around this current digital situation?

Our My Disney Experience is a bit of a mess for a family of 10 and I finally got it up and running after a phone call but it’s not “right.” We’re all just acting as one person and all logging in as that on an upcoming trip.

I’m actually a dvc owner as well (my brothers and I are listed as owners on our parents’ contracts and we always received our own cards), but upon logging in under my Disney experience app, it didn’t pop up as an option for me to add to my wallet.

Just wondering if there’s a way to NOT have it in a digital wallet/part of the MyDisneyExperience.

No way around it. You need your own DVC and MDE account in order to get it to work.

You would need to call MS, get them to help you set up DVC and then it should connect to your MDE…since you do have that already.

Then you should be able to upload the MM pass to your wallet…or Google pay if not an iPhone…and show the DVC Y you need for discounts.

Even to get the temporary card you can get from the website, you
need your own log in to get it in your name, but many CMs are enforcing the digital wallet rules now.

Thanks. Found another thread that hinted at this. Some of us have annual passes and Disney visas so there are other options for discounts, but I see that's the only way for DVC.

And rumor is the discounts with an AP will be moving that way as well but for now, it does seem the hard card will still work!

The Epcot lounge though is going to require the new one if you do ever want to visit that.

You will need to be an owner listed on the deed. Not an associate owner. If that is the case, you can set up your own account with the help of the DVC call center. It takes about 5-10 minutes.

Good to know...and I'm honestly not sure what we're listed as. I know we paid post-purchase to have the deeds changed to reflect "some type of" ownership, but I'm not sure what the official terminology is. I know we always got physical cards so I can't see why this would be any different with the switch to digital, but good to know.

When DL resurrected AP's as Magic Keys, they went totally digital. No physical card (I think initially you could pay $20 to have them print out a single-use daily card, but you couldn't do it at home so there was a serious effort to discourage anything physical). To receive an "AP" discount, you have to open the digital pass in the Tickets and Passes section of MDE, and they scan the QR code.

In the app, at the bottom of the pass screen it specifically reads:

Don't Forget to Bring Your Phone You'll need to show a valid Magic Key pass in the Disneyland app to enjoy applicable Magic Key discounts and more.

No ambiguity there. Bring your phone to get your discount.

Yup! I realize it is not going to work for everyone, but it is the way things are moving and there are many of us, who don't mind the change!

How do you see your membership number on the digital cards? I see an ID number that does not match my membership number.

You can't. The number display is basically the same as the code printed on the back of the MagicBands.

I had issues with Apple Pay not available as well. In my case, location services on iPhone needed to be switched to the US to solve. Once that was done, the membership cards loaded without issue.
