Adding dining plan

I posted this on another board but figured I would put it here too.
I have a reservation with a travel agency recommended on this board. It includes full stay tickets, meals and everything. The meals are not part of the package, I just added them after I had the package booked. My final payment is due in a few days but I may need an extra week or two to make the payment due to a check I am expecting being sent out a bit late. I am wondering if I can remove the meal plan and then re-ad it in another two weeks. That way I could pay for the trip in full right now and the meal plan after the check gets here and is deposited. While I like the price this agency has gotten me the agent tends to be hard to reach. I sent her an email today but have not heard back from her and often I don't for several days. If I can't do this I can shuffle some other things around and just pay it all off but if I can avoid that I would like to. I think if I remember correctly I can add dining right up to the day before I leave. TIA.

I'm confused. Do you have a dining plan booked, or are the meals included some other way? The dining plan is always part of a package (with only very specific exceptions that wouldn't apply here).

The dining plan will have to be added 72 hours before check in. Your problem is YOU cannot add the plan; your TA will have to add the plan, so the only way to do it is through the agent you're having trouble getting a hold of. I wouldn't chance it.

I don't think the dining plan is part of a plan. I am paying full price for it. If I added it I wouldn't wait until 72 hours before. I would do it 2 weeks before. Travel agent isn't terrible. She just takes too long to return calls and doesn't feel like she goes the extra mile. I am guessing it is a side job for her.

I might just pay it all and suck it up and be broke for a week or two. We are self employed and this is a substantial check. Due to a glitch it is coming out a bit late

The plan is ALWAYS* part of a package. When you add it back, you'll be making a change to the package, and there could be additional fees; $50 for the change which is usually waived when the cost increases, and, within 2 weeks, a $15 expedited paperwork fee.

*except for DVC reservations

thank you so much. That is what I wanted to know. Not a big deal. I will just pay it. We r self employed and I keep funds in different accounts. I like to use certain things for vacation but I'll deal.
