Adding Dining plan to room only?

If I book a Florida resident rate room only. Can you then add the DP or DDP upon check in?

Not as far as I know....the only instance in which you can do the DDP without a plan that includes a room and at least one day ticket is if you are a DCV member. Even then, it cannot be added at check-in. It must be ordered in advance.

As a Fl resident, you can purchase the Disney Dining Experience card on arrival--you get it at the Guest Services window outside of EPCOT.

No, the DDP has to added at least 72 hours in advance. It turns your room-only reservation into a package reservation, which also requires a ticket purchase. Exceptions are guests staying on DVC points at DVC resorts (no ticket purchase required) and Annual Passholders, who can get room+dining packages (subject to availability) without buying tickets.

Annual Passholders *can* book a room-only reservation and add the DDP. We are FL Resident Seasonal Annual Passholders and just booked a reservation for Dec w/a discounted room rate plus DDP (and have another pkg like that for Sept). But we booked the room as *passholders* rather than using our FL resident discount. As far as I know, there is no resident room-only plus DDP code.

And, as a PP said, you would have to add it in advance, not when you check in.

DVC and passholders only. Otherwise you need the room, tickets, and then the ddp

You have to add the dining plan to your reservation 72 hours in advance. A Florida Resident cannot add the dining plan to their room only package. As stated in the thread though Annual Passholders can add the dining plan to their package and it's a great deal.

Sort of. It's still technically a "package" and has the same requirements as such ($200 deposit and full payment due 45 days in advance). It's a "passholder package" -- not exactly the same thing as "adding dining" to a room-only reservation. That would imply that you only pay a one-night's deposit and the rest is due on check-in. That's not the case, thus the distinction.
