Adding Dining Plan to Existing Reservation

Apparently since a systems upgrade yesterday, guests are no longer able to add the paid dining plan to existing "closed" (I'm assuming within the paid in full period) reservations.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to add paid dining plan to a reservation that begins on 11/3?

1) Cancel and make a new ressie.
2) Too many people were adding at the last minute.
3) This change stops that - among other ADR things not yet announced.

Yes, the small print "subject to change without notice" applies and with the new "system", changes won't be made to packages after the package code expires.

However, I was politely persistent, and Luke was persistent with the "keepers of the magic codes" and I was able to add dining to my existing package at the regular DDP prices without changes to my existing reservations.

I'm curious as to what the big deal is to add the DDP last minute?
