Could someone tell me a reason other than that they can make their own ressies, to add my adult children to my contract. I do not mean legally. I mean add their names via Disney.

As I understand it, in the event of my death, they would not inherit the dvc simply because they are listed on the contract.

I have added my three adult children (college age, still at home when not in college) at various times so that they can make their own ressies using my points, add DDP, check their waitlist, etc. I also added my sister who is traveling with us in the future so that she will be able to add DDP, ME, and ADR's to her own ressie which is a 2 bedroom at OKW. I have a separate one at a one bedroom. Once her trip is over I will take her off as an associate member. I am very careful about who I allow as an associate member and add or subtract them as I see fit for the particular travel plans.

You are correct. Being an associate on your account would not entitle them to automatically inherit your contract. You would have to take care of that via your estate.

Really, adding someone as an associate is good for giving someone else the ability to make reservations, etc. and talk to MS. They would have the same ability as you would in this regard. If you really have no desire to give them this option, then IMO, there is no reason to add them.
