How easy is it to add a day to your stay while you are at the resort? I am thinking of adding a day to our trip but might wait until I get down there. We are going May 4-9 with 2 young children (2, 4 yo). Not sure if 6 days, 5 nights is enough for MK, AK and Epcot at a slow pace? BUT not sure if being cramped in one room for any longer is good. HELP!!!

It depends on how booked up they are. If you have the room rate on the codes you may not get the extra night at the same lower rate.

MK generally 2 days will work - great boat ride over

AK generally 1 full day but it does get hot so you may not last the day - do you plan to take a mid-day break back to the hotel for lunch and swim?

Epcot generally 1 full day - not as much stuff for the younger kids as MK

Not going to MGM??

Also whether 6 days is enough might depend on your flights arrival and departure time and how much of your 1st and last day you actually have

If all you end doing is sleeping in the room you should not be too cramped as the rooms are 340 square feet - not huge but decent and have two vanities outside of the tub/toilet "bathroom" so multiple people can get ready etc

Thanks

When we were there last month we had a voicemail message from the WL on one of our last days there. It was a solicitation for us to stay an extra day. I think they called it a "stampede" rate or something catchy like that. So, not only is it possible but it is being actively solicited and it seemed like it would be at a good rate. We were booked on flights so extending wasn't an option for us but it certainly seemed like it would be possible.

While on our anual 1st week of Dec. trip this past year, we were staying at the GF, and decided that we wanted to stay an extra night. The was NOTHING available. We really wanted to stay a couple extra nights, so we wound up going over to the Poly after checking out at GF.

BIG mistake!! We had a HORRIBLE time there, and we had had sooo much fun the previous week!! I hate to end our trips on a sour note, and boy was it sour!!!

If I were you I would add the extra day, and then drop it later if you need to. You can always cancel a day, but you can't always add one.

BrierRose,

Not to go off topic but would you mind telling me about your experience at the Poly?

You can PM me if you want.

Any details you could give would be very helpful-room type, condition, where did you eat there, etc.

Sorry you did not have a good time there.

If you can budget it, go ahead and book the extra night. You will love the Lodge. We will be there in July with our two kids and we have enough room, of course we don't spend a lot of time there unless asleep. There is so much to do and see there. We just love walking around and exploring. And as far as being enough days in the parks, is there ever enough days?
