Adding Birthday to Reservation

Hi everyone,

I have rented points (using a broker) to spend 11 nights at WDW next Sep/Oct. It will be a split stay (BWV/AKV), at the end of which, we will be celebrating my son's 6th birthday. We plan on celebrating over two days: his birthday day in NZ (which is time zoned a day ahead of the USA) followed by his birthday day in America.

Anyway, getting to the point. Is it worth contacting the points owner (via the broker) and asking him to add this celebration to our AKV reservation? Is there any benefit to doing this, or is it just as easy to tell the check-in desk on arrival?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

From my experience, you could just as easily inform the front desk. For our last birthday celebration, the front desk gave us a button with the recipient's name written on the front. In the past we have received balloons and cards in the room, but I don't think Disney does this anymore.

I believe when you check in online you can also add the celebration. Others may know the link. I think you can try it here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/ if you know the reservation number.

Hope that helps.

If you make ADR's or plan on a special b'day dinner, then make sure to tell the CM taking the res.. I believe there is also a comments section with on-line ADR's but I'm not sure. Not every experience will be "special" but forewarned is forearmed and each restaurant does its own thing.

You will be able to get a Birthday pin from your front desk or at any relations kiosk. We have had different experiences with different CM's writing on the pins when they give them to you.

Either way have a great time. Twice :rotfl2:

Thank you both. It sounds like it'll be just as easy to inform them myself either through online check-in or when we arrive.

Will definitely add the info to his birthday ADRs. Thanks for the heads-up. We're thinking a Ohana dinner for his NZ birthday and a special breakfast for his U.S. birthday (yet to be decided, but leaning towards Crystal Palace).
