We are planning our next trip. My DD won't know until just before we go if she will be able to go with us. So I made the reservations for 3. If we see that she can go (which will add extra to our room as she is over 18) should I call them to add her to the room as soon as I find out(which may be only days before we go) or can I just tell them at check in that she has joined us and pay the extra cost then?

If it were me, I would tell them at check in that I now have four in the room and need four room keys. End of story. And no, I wouldn't pay the additional adult charge unless she is consuming more water, towels and taking up 25% more space than she did in the previous months.

I made our ressie last May for a trip in November for just me DH, DD, and DS. The day before we left my mother decided to go. We stayed at the CBR and when we checked in I told the CM we had an extra adult staying with us and they said it was no problem. Also, my original ressies were for a package including LOS passes for 8 days and my mother only wanted a 4-day park-hopper and I was able to just buy that for her at check in. I didn't have to buy a LOS pass for her. Saved money there!!

In January I waited until I got to check-in to tell them that BIL and SIL would be joining us in the room. This wasn't a problem for them, and they didn't charge us for the extra guests, just gave us the extra room keys. Maybe I'll do that everytime ;) .

It is not a 'done deal' that she will be an extra charge.

It is not uncommon for the resort to waive the extra charge if the 'extra adult' is your child, and especially if they still attending school / living at home, etc.

If your daughter was not planning on getting a LOS pass, but a hopper, I really don't see the need to tell them there is an extra person in your room. If you have booked a standard with 2 double/queen beds, and there is room for 4 in your room, then just keep your original ressie as it is.

If she wants a LOS, then you will have to add her on. :):D:)
