Adding a person to an existing ADR

I have made our ADR's for our November trip, all for 8 people I just found out that another family member will be joining us for several of them. Does anyone have experience adding one person to a reservation by calling, or do you have to just hope for a new reservation for 9 to open up? Being able to add one additional person would be so much easier! Thanks for any info you can share!

I think that once you pass 8 people you are into Group Reservations territory so you'll have to call them to change from 8 to 9. Good luck!

You can't just add one person to a reservation, they'd have to cancel the reservation for 8 and rebook for 9. Which can only be done if there is availability for 9 in the first place.

Call and have them check for availability for 9 (don't let them cancel anything until they've checked for availability), but if they don't have it you will probably have to show up with your extra person and hope for the best (maybe especially so at Thanksgiving.)
