Has anyone ever had luck adding one person (more specifically, 1 to a party of 4) to their ADR at the podium? I've mentioned before that we have a surprise guest and i'm not sure if she'll be able to eat with us. I wanted to get suggestions before we leave because she may or may not purchase the dining plan and if we can't add her (I've tried calling, it's no use!) it probably wont be worth it for her to get it.

thanks!

Hi,

Usually a party of 5 requires a different set up than a party of 4. So adding one to a party of 3 is usually not a big deal since a party of 3 is usually seated at a table for four. It will depend on how crowded the place is. What time and place do you have the ADR for.

Wow... I have the same question. We just added a third person to our trip next week and are wondering whether or not she'll get to eat with us if she shows up to our ADR's with us?

It really depends. If you are slated to be seated at a table for 2 then telling them at the podium that you are actually a party of 3 could cause you to be delayed in being seated or if they are fully booked might even be turned away.

I guess we'll have to take our chances. I know several of the places still had lots of availability when I made the ADR's a few weeks ago, so hopefully, these places will have room for one more. We might run into trouble for our ADR at Akershus but I think the rest should be okay. Hopefully. We added our third guest as a spontaneous "good samaritan" surprise - she hasn't had a decent vacation in years because of lack of time and money. It would be great if she could join us for the entire WDW experience, including the dining. Next time we'll have to make sure we plan farther in advance. Okay, I'm rambling... thanks for the response though!

I'm in the opposite boat. I have ressies for 7 scheduled but just found out 3 may not be able to make it. (My brothers family and they are military and he might come down on orders.) Obviously he isn't sure yet so I don't want to cancel because I know we won't be able to add them back but am wondering what will happen if we show up with just 4 instead? Anyone know?

I'm sure we wont lose the ADR if we have to take it for 4 we will just take it for 4. But it'd be nice if we could have her eat with us, I'm sure we wouldn't mind waiting a little longer to add her.

I was just wondering if anyone had actual experience with this.

tricia.
