Adding a Minor onto DVC

I wanted to know if I could add my minor child onto my DVC membership- so if anything happened to DH and she would be on it, I know it's a wierd question- just curious. Thanks for any insight.

I don't know if Florida law prevails or if your home State does but you are dealing with a legal issue. DVC may require a minimum age of 18 but Real Estate law might be 21.

Those who are considering adding a minor to a title should speak to an attorney.

Laws vary by state and there are several issues to consider, not the least of which is that in some cases, the court will need to appoint a guardian or custodian to manage the property on behalf of the child.

You may also be subject to the gift tax.

Adding a minor to the title is not always a cheap way to ensure the child inherits the contract.
