Adding a Disneyland day to a CityPass ticket

I am in the process of planning for a trip down to Disneyland with my GF and possibly some other friends in August, and based on some of our plans I am thinking that the best approach to this will be to get her a CityPass ticket (I already have a premium AP, so I'd probably be buying Universal\Sea World tickets separately. ) On the other hand, we're looking at possibly doing four days at Disneyland instead of three, which would require adding on a day. Has anyone added a day to a CityPass ticket, and if so, how much should I expect it to cost?

I don't have the answer but I thought I would say that I would love to know the same thing so that I could bump this back up.
PLEASE SOMEONE ANSWER!!!!!

We are thinking of adding days in September and I contacted City Pass and this is the reply I got back from them:

You can purchase a City PASS and upgrade for more days at Disney. The credit for the Disney portion of the adult pass would be $214 and the credit for the youth pass is $198. Basically this would be the portion you have already paid to be credited to the additional amount you would pay for extra days.
Please contact us again if you have additional questions.
Thank you for choosing City PASS.

Let's hope it works!:woohoo:

We are using city passes for our upcoming trip. My DH did most of the research, but I THINK that you get a credit of $219/adult that can be used to purchase a 4th day at DLR. There is also a credit for children, but I can't remember the exact amount at the moment (something like $198, I think). I hope that helps at least a little!

Hi All,
To clarify, the credit you receive for your CityPASS towards an upgrade to a higher-cost ticket is $214 for ages 10+ and $198 for ages 3-9. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks!

Can you also do this at Universal Studios? Like upgrade to a front of the line pass (or whatever they call it)???:confused3

Hi,

What is the process to get this done? Do we do it at the gate with Disneyland or with CityPass when purchasing the tickets? And will upgrade option be available if we purchase the CityPass through Costco (or Costco Canada to be specific). Thank you for asking the question and thank you for letting me piggy-backing on this thread :)

Yes, you can. You can buy Front of the line pass inside the park, there is a dedicated booth. right after the house of horrors, you cannot miss it, it's almost in the middle of the road.

You do it at Disneyland, and yes, you can upgrade your CityPASS regardless of where you purchased it. :)

Thanks for all the help with these upgrading questions? Just one more, if I may? Does anyone know the price difference in upgrading to Front of the Line at Universal? How much credit do you get with having the CityPass? Thanks again!

Can you upgrade the disneyland part of the ticket to a 4 day one park per day ticket? Or no, since it is a parkhopper?

It's not really an upgrade. You buy the FoTL pass at current price.
It varies depending on season. When I went two weeks ago it was 60$+taxes, but I've seen it also for 40$.
I think that on Universal web site you'll find the current price day by day.

so upgrading an adult to a 4 day parkhopper would be an extra $61 at disney ($275-214)

Thanks for the info!!! Really appreciate it......down to 90 days......gotta get all this planning done! :cheer2:

Hi there,
Regarding the Front of the Line upgrade for CityPASS holders, the cost does fluctuate throughout the year. Generally, the cost to upgrade would be the current Front of the Line cost minus the full retail General Admission cost. You could always call them to confirm; the number is (407)224-7840.

Also, they recommend getting there as close to opening (currently 9 a.m.) as possible to purchase the upgrade, because they do sell out.

My understanding is that you can upgrade to any ticket of greater value, so I believe the answer is yes. I'll double-check and if I find out differently, I'll reply again.

$275-$214 looks right to me based on the current prices on their website, but keep in mind if the gate price was different than the online price for some reason, it would be based on the gate price.
