How do I do this? We're going in July and I bought 1 day tickets for all five of us but now it seems like my daughter and I will have a free day while we're down there so I would like to add an add'l day for just 2 of the tickets.

Go to any ticket window or Guest Relations before you leave on the last day of your visits in the park. For best results, add the days after you've used the tickets to enter a park at least once.

I should have included that I wanted to add the add'l day now, we're staying offsite and would be able to book PF+ today for the add'l day I want to go to MK.

I just chatted with an agent and they said the only way to add on it at a kiosk :( boo

So I can either buy 2 more 1 day tickets or not do a second day...hmmmm

Unless you need to do the Anna/Elsa M&G or 7DMT on this extra day, you will probably find FP+ availability for most any attraction you want even a few days out. So waiting until you get there may not be as bad an option as may seem.

Can you please explain the comment about using the tickets to enter a park at least once before adding a day? We are arriving on a Friday and were planning to add a day to our 4 day tickets on Saturday. We were planning to do this at DTD, as Saturday is not a park day for us. What would be the benefit of waiting until we go to a park? Just curious, thanks

Did you get your first tickets from Disney online, with pickup at Willcall? In any case, no matter where you got the tickets, you can't add on to your original purchase. It was a singular purchase, and there's no going back. If you had bought tickets with a stay at a Disney resort, adding on prior to check-in would be allowed.

Disney has two prices for 1-day tickets. The 1-day ticket to visit MK is $5 more than the 1-day ticket to visit either EP, AK or HS. Do you remember which of the two tickets you bought originally? Just be sure that your original ticket covers the park you plan to visit with your other guests, and you get the second ticket specifically for an MK visit.

There's no point in waiting to add on to your original ticket when you get to WDW, because basically you'll be charged the same. If your 1-day tickets are newer than Feb 23, 2014, the 1-day MK ticket (with tax) is $105.44. The 1-day EP, AK, HS ticket (with tax) is $100.11. Upgrading from a 1-day MK ticket to a 2-day ticket will cost $94.56. Upgrading from a 1-day EP, AK, HS ticket to a 2-day ticket will cost $100.11. See, so basically, same cost in either situation.

I say go ahead and get your two 1-day MK tickets now, so you can plan your FP+. When you get to the front gate of the first park you visit, be sure you and your friend with the two tickets are using the correct ticket for park entry.

If I knew the source of your tickets (from who, and when) I could answer better.

After I posted I realized the prices are almost the same. I purchased them from disney online and we received the plastic "card" tickets in the mail already, we bought the MK tickets. We've only been one other time and my dd was only 2 then and was so sick the entire trip we didn't enjoy ourselves at all. She's 9 now and I'm thinking one day at MK isn't enough and had the brilliant idea (today, lol) to add a day while my husband and the boys go to UA.

If I was a 9-yo DD, MK would be my first choice!

Just bought 2 more one day tickets to MK :cloud9:

FP+ booked for Big Thunder, Peter Pan and Buzz Lightyear for our newly added Monday!!! I can book our Wed FP+ tonight at midnight. I really hope we can get 7DMT and splash!

This is news to me. I'm not saying it's wrong, just literally news to me. Are you saying you can't upgrade tickets anymore unless purchased as part of a package? :confused3

I wish CF was here. :(

I think what they're saying is you can upgrade individual tickets, just not until you've used the first day. You can't do it ahead of time.

Wait, so if what I am reading here is right, I currently have a 6 night trip planned for the end of August. Currently have 3 days of Hopper tix. During the planning stage I realized my kid can only go on 3 rides at US, so I want to add a day at the MK. Over 2 months out, I can't add an extra day to my WDW tix????

You got your tickets as part of a Disney resort package? You can add and delete as you wish up until the point (45 days out) that changes will be charged for. However, when you add to your resort stay within 45 days, Disney usually forgives the change charge.

The tickets were purchased at from Disney online. They were all purchased after April 1, 2014. Does that help?

Yes, now I can answer your question. There is more than one source of Disney tickets. Direct Disney ticket sales come from their Ticket Booths, and Disney Online, Mail Order, Will Call.

There are some indirect sources of Disney tickets where you could either buy them at a discount (like AAA, UndercoverTourist, Mapleleaf) or buy them indirectly from Disney sources (like The Disney Store, or Disney resorts with a resort stay).

If you purchased your tickets, then there was a ticket price increase, then later you wanted to add a day or feature to your tickets, the question of where you bought your tickets would come into play. Those tickets purchased directly from Disney, as noted above, would have to be charged for the new upgrade, plus the cost difference between the original ticket price and the current ticket price. In your case, tickets purchased directly from Disney Online, but no price increase as yet, there's no effect.

However, those tickets purchased indirectly from other sources (third party or indirectly from Disney as noted above) can avoid the charge for the ticket price increase, if the ticket is used to enter a theme park first. That one step brings these tickets up to current gate price. Then later, when doing the upgrade, the only charge is for the cost of the upgrade.

Currently, I have 2-day tickets from a 2010 Free Dining resort stay. These are indirect Disney tickets. Four years have gone by, 4-5 price increases. I plan to take these tickets to WDW in September and upgrade them to 8-day PH tickets. My tickets were worth $172.53 in 2010. Now they cost $200.22. I can enter a theme park using these tickets, and the tickets would be raised in value to $200.22. Then I would do my upgrade. If I upgraded these old tickets before entering a theme park, I would owe for the upgrade, plus all the price increases per ticket ($200.22 - $172.53 = $27.69). That extra amount could add up to a lot, for a family's worth of tickets.

Thank you for your help. So unless there is an increase in price before we go in July, I think we are okay to go to DTD and do the upgrade. We wanted to do them on Saturday, because that gives us more time to do the FP+ for that additional day. We are not doing a park until Monday. Thanks again, I will watch for any increases.
