Adding a day to ticket purchased from UT

We have 5 day tickets. We might add a 6th day - haven't decided yet.

I read the ticket post up above but still confused as to exactly what this might cost. I think the whole upgrading a discounted ticket thing has me confused.

Use your ticket at least once, then go to any ticket booth and ask to add a day.

If I recall each day after the 4th costs just $10 more.

$289 would be the value given for your ticket, then your new ticket would be $299, a $10 (plus tax) difference.

I did this at Thanksgiving. I think (I could be wrong) that you have to do it before the end of your 5th day. It is good to know what it should cost bc the CM at DTD Disney Guest Services initially came up with the price of a new one day ticket when he was doing it. Yikes! I told him no, it should only be around $10/ticket, he called for help, and it worked out fine. But the fact that the tickets were from UT did not cause any issues, no one even mentioned it.

Correct, and do the upgrade no LATER than on the day that you use the ticket's
last asset.

I have an old 1 day ticket that I had to buy a few years ago for free dining(I had an AP). SO I use this ticket and upgrade after I enter the part correct?

Yes (if it is a "Magic Your Way" ticket.)

What is the implication to FP+ though? If I enter the park before I upgrade does my last day of FP+ reservations stay still since I now just used 1 day of my 5 day ticket?

I am sure no one knows...yet. LOL!

You could then reserve FP+ for the "new last day" (the one that you added) when you upgraded the "ticket."

That's what I'm worried about - our first day is our new day and I don't want to lose my last day FP+ reservations as they are on the Sunday before President's Day.

Why would you lose anything on the last day?
Other than the infamous GLITCHES, of course (but that could happen even without doing anything.)

If you add a day and use it at the beginning of your trip, you could just make "day-of" FP+ choices.

I guess I was concerned that the system would realize I entered, thereby losing a day of later FP+ reservations since when I enter, I only have a 5 day ticket. We will def make day of choices b/c right now I have no idea what park we will choose anyway. We might play the whatever bus comes first game.

Thanks, it is. Had to buy it for the best free dining offer ever....app, entree, dessert and the tip!!!

You always know the answers, thanks!

You'll need to take your ticket to a WDW ticket booth or Guest Relations and
trade it in (at no charge) for a new RFID-enhanced ticket** to use at the park gate that day.
Then, do the upgrade any time that same day.

(**All ticket issued now at WDW are RFID tickets.)

I was wondering about this as well. We are going in August. Bought 7 day park hoppers from UT which I already have. We now have decided to take a later flight home on our last day & want to make them 8 day park hoppers so we can go to the parks on our last day since there will be a lot more time. They are still in the unopened sealed plastic. I seem to remember having this happen to me years ago & calling the customer service number for UT & since they were unopened, I was able to return them & pay the difference for the new ones. Don't know if you can still do this, but that way you would have them & can still do your FP+ in advance before you leave home. That is if you have enough time before your trip to wait for new tickets and the return of old ones, etc. Again can't confirm that they still do this, but wouldn't hurt to call if you didn't open your tickets. I remember they had to be in that sealed plastic pouch.

You can return UT tickets.
Officially, there is a 5% "restocking fee," but I don't know if they
will waive that if you want to order larger tickets.

All that said, it would make a lot of sense just to add the day ($10.65 per ticket, including tax) after you have arrived
and have used the ticket at least one time to enter a park.
