Adding a day to preexisting reservation

This might be a dumb question. I originally wanted to book Contemporary from 6/23-7/2. They only had 6/24-7/2 available at booking with the 25% off special offer, so I booked Contemporary 6/24-7/2 and an off property hotel for 6/23. I now see that 6/23 is available-same room category-no discount.

If I add 6/23 (rack rate :scared1:) to my prior reservation, can they merge both stays into 1 reservation? We wouldn't have to change rooms, correct? The only reason I'd add a night is to avoid room switching hassles from the off property hotel so it'd be pointless to change it if we still have to switch rooms.

You would need to make that a one night reservation. If you add it to your current reservation, you will loose your discount (the first night doesn't qualify). You can then call and let them know you would like to stay in the same room.

I would call and ask if you can add 6/23 to your current reservation and keep your discount (you may have to ask to speak with someone in Guest Services to see if they can honor this request). If they say no, I would book 6/23 as a separate reservation and inform the front desk, when you check in for the first reservation, that you have a continuing reservation and would like to stay in the same room for 6/23. I would go back to the front desk on 6/22 to make that request again.
