Adding a day in Dec.-now or later?

A friend of mine booked us a stay at SSR from Dec. 11th-18th. In my infinite excitement I made a mistake I cannot even believe-I booked out return trip for the 19th. Now I am sure there was some sort of Freudian thing at work there, but my solution is to rent one night-the 18th and just leave on the 18th. It's cheaper than changing the tickets and hey-I get another night at Disney

So my question is can I wait until Nov. to rent a room or should I look to do that now? Will there be a problem with availability in Nov. for Dec.?

You will be lucky to find availablity now- finding it in Nov would be very rare. I would look into renting a room now and if you can't do so book a room on cash or change your tickets.

There has been little to no DVC rooms available for that time frame for some time now. I'd say book yourself a value room for that last night, and have your friend try to go on a waitlist to add a night. If it comes through...great, but if it doesn't, you can keep the value and know you'll at least have a place to stay.

Just clarifying that there is no availability for Dec 18th currently in DVC resorts?

If that's the case I will just try and pick up a room at any resort on property.

Your friend would have to call to verify. That's a Saturday night, which are more points than weeknights. You would have to find out if your friend even has extra points to use.

If you have air booked you should try to get a room reserved right away. Any thoughts here on if there is a room available on the 18th is just speculation and inventory changes all the time. Only having your friend call will determine if another night can be added on for points. It is a busy time though so realize that it may not happen.
