Can we do this at the gates when we get there? DH found out that there is a USC football game the Saturday after our trip and wants to stay...this means we'll have a 5th day at DLR:cool1:.

Does anyone know how much it costs to add that 5th day?

You should be able to upgrade from a 4 day PH to a 5 Day PH without any problems. Go to any ticket booth when you arrive. I would assume that you will be charged the difference between the two ticket prices ($275 and $290) which is $15.00 per ticket.

You can upgrade no problems. You will have to pay the difference between the cost of the ticket you are purchasing (5-day hopper) and the price you paid for the 4-day hopper. You will lose any discount you got on pre-purchasing.

How would they know how much you paid?

So if we bought our tickets before the price hike, it's going to show up and we'll have to pay the $50 per ticket to upgrade?

Wow, I guess no 5th day for us then...We'll find other stuff to do in LA instead. Upgrading 4 parkhoppers would cost us almost $400. Lame.

Hmmm. I have to challenge your math here, that sounds really high. The old price for a 4-day park-hopper was $249 for adults, $231 for kids. The current price for a 5-day park-hopper is $290 for adults and $270 for kids. I'm not sure how many adults/kids you have, but that means that for four people, the upgrade is only about $160?

Well my math was off but it is still a lot.

We paid $234 for adults and $216 for the kids.

That is a difference of $56 for each adult and $54 per child. That is $220 for one more day.

We're going to have to figure out if it's worth it or not. We have $350 rewards points we were planning to use on food, but if we bring our own lunches, we could use that to upgrade...

After you've used your passes for one day, there have been reports of cheap upgrades happening. This is similar to the WDW method where you have to forfeit your discount if you upgrade before using your tickets for 1 day, but not after. I would price it out, after using your passes for 1 day.

This is only if you upgrade from 5 days (the max they sell) to 6 or 7 days. If you upgrade to a pass that is sold at the parks then you pay the difference between what you paid for the pass you have and the "gate price" for the pass you want.

Thanks for the clarification.
