Please help me understand how adding a one night premuim plan to our vacation will work. I am taking my DD13 to WDW for a girls getaway and really want to make it special. I recently booked 5 nights at CBR with a room only pin code. I was hoping to do some really fun things, like parasailing, horse back rididng, CRT and La Nouba.

After reading about how we can split our stay and book a one night premium plan, this really seems like the way to go. First off, can anyone clarify what the cost of this would be for us? I understand that we would have to pay rack for that night. Do we also have to pay for one day tickets for each of us for that night? We don't have our tickets yet. I was hoping to buy discounted tickets through UT, but it dooesn't seem like that would be a good idea in this case. Also, If we keep our original reservation and just change it to the last 4 nights and have the 2 reservations linked, can we upgrade the original one day tickets and use them for the rest of our stay? My original plan was to purchase the 5 day tickets and upgrade them to AP's before we left so that we could use them for a longer trip in December.

Please help me understand this before I make the leap. We were just at WDW this past Christmas break, but my mother passed while we were there. I am trying to bring back the magic of WDW to to a young lady who had a really sad time there last month.

Thanks for any help.:flower3:

With the premium you would have to buy 1 day tickets. You can save those for later, AP renewal, etc. It sounds like you plan to go in Dec too in which case you can apply the tickets to tickets for MVMCP if you are planning that. It's a bit more expensive (room about $100 more and plat about $100 more) but for our 1 night platinum package it's $900 for 2 people at AKL at CBR the 1 night premium would be close to $700 I think. If you do the 1 day premium for your first day you really lose a lot of time unless you can check in very early in the morning but yes if you do that you can upgrade the tickets. The other issue is that with 2 separate reservations you are NOT guaranteed the same room and you have to be prepared to pack up and spend time checking in again plus you may be homeless for most of a day if you wanted to shower between a sport and dinner. I think ultimately it can be worthwhile but it takes a lot of planning and some risk that you waste some time if things don't go perfectly.

Thanks for the help. We are actually planning on doing it this March. If we wind up doing all of the activities outside of the parks, can we save the one day ticket and use it on the second half of the trip? We know WDW parks and property pretty well and we will have a rental car.

I would really look at the cost of the plan vs paying for the activities you are interested in separately.
Do you have AAA or the Disney VISA? If so, you can get discounts on a lot of activities. If you upgrade tickets to AP, you have another source for a discount.
Get a quote on the package and then compare it to your current booking with the additional costs of the activities added and see what is the best deal.
