added1 extra day & wait listed

This will be our 1st time staying @ BLT since we became members.
We made a resv. for may 29th thru june 5th @ 11 months out for a 1 bedroom LV. Now we have to extend it 1 more night due to air resv.
I e-mailed & call MS & they told me there was nothing available @ BLT, but I could have OKW or SSR. ( I really don't want to move the last night )So I asked to be put on a wait-list.
Being a 1st time DVC member.....(but definately not to DW).....What are my chances of getting the extra night? And how long should I wait to hear from them? For now I'm going to make a resv @ a mod. to be safe...

DId you inquire about a cash rate for that last night at BLT?? It may be an option. As far as the waitlist goes, I have no idea what the chances are.WE have only waitlisted once, and it came through for us at 30 days before. If it doesn't come through by the month before, I would book somewhere else just to be safe.

I think the fact that you are waiting on a LV room is better than if you were waiting for SV or Mk View. And, the fact that it is only for one night gives you better adds as well.

I would definitely check out the ability to book on cash through MS (25% discount.

We made resse at BLT at 7 months out and had 2 different rooms. 3 days LV and 3days of MK. Were were on the wait list for MK because we wanted all Mk, and within a month got the other 3 days. So hang in there, Dreams can come true.

Did you think about moving to a studio the last night. Our trip this April we decided to to move down because we were leaving so early in the morning to catch our flight. Easier to use Friday night points on a studio than the 2bdrm we have the rest of the week.

I would have taken one of the offered rooms and waitlisted for what you really want at BLT. If you're booking a mod, you will be moving, I would like the nicest accomodations I could get for the last night. This way also, perhaps you'll be trying another DVC and you'll know, or at least get an idea if you ever want to stay there again.

I was about to say the same thing. I would call and have a room booked at an available resort, so at least you have the same size accomodations you want. The waitlist might still come through, so you aren't out anything. If you are going to move anyway, I'd personally rather move to another DVC resort than a mod. And, as Bobbi said, you can experience another DVC resort for yourself to gather information for future visits.

I would think that you have a good chance with other people waitlisting for MK views. I also agree that getting a BLT studio in the interim would work well evel if you do not get the 1br.

I never thought to ask about a studio @ BLT, because she told me "nothing available" & offered OKW or SSR. This could be an option..
I also didn't know you could ask for a cash rate thru DVC. When I checked the DW site for a rate@ BLTstudio LV it was $480. So 25% off would still be around $360.....
DH really doesn't want to move to another DVC for 1 night considering we won't be spending much of our last day/night in the room.
I think for now I'll book CSR (they have queen beds) just in case the 1 night doesn't open up, or we can't move into a studio.
