My grand total was over $3,000.:woohoo::cheer2: This does not include what I saved at Sam's/BJ's as I can't figure out how to calculate those savings. I am so excited. I am going to plan my next Disney trip with the savings.

So, how much did you save this year??

:goodvibes :cool1: THATS GREAT!!! I just recently started and Im close to $200. I cant WAIT to kick off 2012 with couponing!

I never keep track of how much I save but that's a really good idea - and posted just at the right time - thanks!

how do you keep track of all of this? Do you include items you get on sale too?

What an awesome savings! Definitely will cover a DW vacation! How did you keep track of all you're savings? I save a lot too, but have never kept track.

Very cool!!!

I do want to ask though, the things you saved on... were they items you would have purchased anyways? Did you use/donate them?

I always have to tell my mom when she brags about what she saves; you are only saving if you would have bought the item anyway and/or can use the item!

I kept track last year and was right around $3,000 as well :) It's such a great feeling! I couponed HEAVILY last year though and even had a few $100 grocery trips that costed zero or $0.01. I think I might do the same for next year... it's always fun to see how much you can save :)

Not sure how much we saved. (I started to keep track but got confused by if I should just count the surface amount on the coupon vs. people who were bragging about big numbers who counted the difference between full price and what they paid).

I do know that in all of 2011 we spent less than 10 bucks total for toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue, and napkins. That's pretty darn good.

Combining a rain check, a sale, and coupons I bought two hams yesterday for a total of $8.14, also quite a score.

$3,000 in a year is about $250 per month. That is a LOT to save with coupons.

Keeping track of savings is the tricky part. If you buy a two dollar item that you have a dollar coupon for, are you saving one dollar or losing a dollar for buying something you might not need? The same thing can be said of slothes you buy on sale. I've tried to keep track a few times, but always get caught up figuring out exactly what is savings vs spending.

Where I shop, the bottom of my cash register recipts states "Total Savings today is $XX.XX". My receipts also break it down as to sales items, store coupons, Manufacturer coupons, but I just use the total saved today amount.

CVS receipts also tell you how much you saved on that shopping trip.

I keep an Excel spread sheet and add my savings in every few weeks. It is much easier to keep track and then I can throw out my receipts if they are not needed.

I do not buy items that we don't use (well once in a while if it is a new product and free or almost free with a coupon). I will stock up on items if they are on sale and I have coupons for them.

WOW Annsteere, that is great! I really wish that I could save that much on paper products. :thumbsup2

Budafam, Great job!! I just love seeing my total savings add up over the year.

I don't really keep track of very single time I use a coupon but black friday alone we saved over $1000.
