We just talked to our guide today and added 300 more BLT points (1000 point club now with 1050 total!) because not only are the prices going up in December as has been rumored to $130/pt, but the incentive for 250+ points now was $18/pt making the cost $102/pt. :goodvibes

I was also told that starting Nov 1st, the DVC financing will be changing to where people are not automatically approved. They will now run a credit check and the preferred rate will go up to 11.75% from 10.75%. I suspect they may be getting ready to sell future loans vs keeping them like they do now.

Congratulations on your add on and on making the 1000 point club!:banana:

My guide told me this week that prices were going up Nov. 1st this year and that I would need to add on this weekend at the latest.

I also got an invitation for the webcast coming up, so I am thinking about adding on my points tomorrow and then waiting for the webcast to see if there is a better deal.

Interesting your guide told you the prices were going up Nov 1st. Our guide told us Dec 1st for the price increase on BLT as otheres have reported as well. I wonder if something else is also happening Nov 1st besides the financing changes.

Did your guide say anything about the rumored restrictions on resale contracts?

Congratulations!!! How cool it must be to have that many points so that you can enjoy Mickey so often!!

And, that price is a great, IMO!!!

I didn't ask, and he didn't volunteer anything specifically. He mentioned some possible perk changes for DVC members at different levels, but said they were still being decided and he didn't have specifics so who knows. :confused3

Congratulations on joining the 1,000 point club!:dance3: I can only dream of being a member one day!

Maybe the VIP club is being considered again? :stir:

What is the VIP club? We only joined this past January so I was never aware of it

There is no VIP club at the moment.

There have been RUMORS and (most likely) just plain conjecture by some people around here about DVC giving special perks to people who have more than a certain number of points.

Some of these perks included special discounts, early booking, etc.

I don't believe a word of it. I think people are just speculating at what DVC might do.

I was also told that starting Nov 1st, the DVC financing will be changing to where people are not automatically approved. They will now run a credit check

Disney always ran a credit check. Credit check results are available instantaneously which is why you could always be approved immediately based on credit alone. In some circumstances, I have seen reports of purchasers who were approved based on credit but then were asked to make an additional downpayment to qualify for financing after the underwriting department had a chance to review the purchaser's debt to income ratio.

The new approval process that you describe would be consistent with what is often required in other financial sectors where "instant approval" is based on income in addition to credit score.

I think you misunderstood.. They ONLY checked credit on new DVC members. If you were a member in good standing and had no late pays, you were automatically approved with no credit check (been through this many times now).

NOW the process is they will always pull your credit even if you have good history with DVC and an existing membership. So, if you had a hiccup on your credit that did not change how you paid DVC, it could have an effect on your ability to finance add-on points.

Congratulations on your purchase. That is awesome to have that many points to use and share! :goodvibes

We were on the Disney Magic Oct 30- Nov 6th. Our DVC presentation said the price of BLT was being raised to 130 on Nov 1 and since we were on the cruise we wouldn't be affected. Sounds like a lot of hooey again. I feel so lied to more often than not these days from the guides.
