I saw this answered before but don’t know if it was a rumor, policy or upcoming policy.

I am going in Sept under free dining (room and park hopper tickets). After the promotion ended, I decided to add an extra day so we can arrive, rest and start the day early on our promotion package. I booked the same resort, same room type but room only, no tickets. Can Disney link my reservation so I can schedule FP 60 days from our arrival day or do I have to keep them separate and schedule 60 days from our first day of the package?

I plan on faxing the resort 2 weeks ahead of arrival in hopes we don’t have to move rooms as well.

Anything else I should know? Thank you!

For FP booking, link the new reservation to your MDX account - Disney doesn’t need to do any linking. 60 days out from that new reservation you can book your FPs for your package stay.

OP, did you add a new reservation as an extra day to the beginning or the end of your trip? For adding a day to the beginning as a separate, RO reservation, my brother’s experience this week was that the tickets linked to the package beginning on 6/3 were not valid until the start date of the package, despite linking the RO reservation for 6/1 and 6/2 to his account. We were unable to book FPs in advance for his new Days 1 & 2 and instead had to wait until arriving on site and went to Guest Relations to change the start date of the tickets from 6/3 to 6/1. Then we were able to book FPs for this weekend (and managed to do pretty well for last minute!).

Following because we just added a RO reservation a day before our package too, and I didn’t even think if I could book fp a day sooner.

Were the tickets with his package the new date specific ones, or the older “anytime in 14 days” tickets?

You have a Split Stay and your full booking window encompasses both stays.

You can only book FPs for your package park dates.

They were date-specific. In the future he’ll plan accordingly, even though things ended up working out fine with the FPs we were able to get the day of.

I added a day (room only) at the start. I think I will have your brother's experience as my tickets are linked to the package. Both reservations are on MDE. Oh well, I added the extra day so we would be rested, early FP would have been an added bonus!

Thanks for sharing:)

Your FP window does open with your room-only stay but you can only book FPs for the package park days as soon as the window opens.

I was just on the phone with Disney this week in regards to that. You can start your tickets early. You just have to go to guest relations to do so. You will not be able to do fast passes a day early though. I did the same thing. We booked our trip and because air fare is so expensive going home if we stay late the last day we decided to add a day before.

I have a similar issue, but it’s a split stay of 2 room-only reservations (1 night Pop, 4 nights BWV via dvc points), with the old ticket structure (bought from undercover tourist before the change ). Am I correct that in this scenario, booking starts 60 days before my Pop arrival day, and I can make them for the whole length of my stay?

Caution regarding info coming over the phone.

Yes, as long as you have enough ticket days to cover the number of days in the park.

Curious what your brother paid (if anything) to change start date. I have same situation. I have PH + tickets. I am not planning on going into a park the first day, but it would be nice to be able to activate my tickets and use a waterpark entry.

I was able to modify my dates within the app. Go to tickets, click them, and hit modify. It was 24 a ticket to change the dates for me, but all days are separately priced. It could be free.

Thanks for the tip, I tried it, but I can’t modify in the app. I have a free dining package, maybe that’s why. The dates are the same cost, so I am hoping it will be free. If it isn’t, we will just try out ASMo’s pool, as we have never stayed there before. Blizzard Beach sounds more fun, though!

He was not charged for the transaction since the ticket prices were the same for both dates.
