Today I have made most of my ADRs. Now I need to add on special events - birthdays and wedding anniversary.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how I do this, as I can't find it anywhere on MDE.

Thanks.

You can request event buttons with your resort reservation that you would pick up at the front desk. Worn on your shirt and most waiters will make the connection. There is also an option in MDE when making the reservation for special requests. If you would like to note it, it can be done there.

Don't go in expecting anything special and you will be fine. If you are looking for guaranteed cake, etc. you should be prepared to pay for it.

Good luck!

The ability to add a celebration to an ADR was removed from the online process last year. If you want to have a celebration noted, you now have to call and have it added to the ADR.

Which will be a problem for the OP as they are from the UK. The cost of an international call just to add a celebration seems daunting.

If you are staying onsite, when you get to your resort go to the lobby concierge and ask them to add the celebration to your ADR. If you're not staying onsite you may be able to do it at Guest Services at a park or DTD.

You can also just wait until you get to the restaurant and ask the CM at check-in to note the celebration on your reservation. I honestly don't know if it makes a difference when you have the celebration noted (i.e., when you make it, at some point before the meal, or at check in).

I think I will add them when we arrive at resort. It seems the cheapest option!

Ask for and wear your birthday and anniversary buttons. Also, at restaurants let your server know about your celebrations. Some servers/restaurants will do something extra - cupcake, a special dessert, confetti, a signed card, champagne, etc. At others it won't even be acknowledged so it's best not to expect anything and be happy when it is.

Definitely not worth the cost of a phone call from the UK. :)
