Hello.

It's my first time visiting Disneyworld.

I'm going to travel with my wife next summer, we already have a room-only package reserved. (all star music resort).

My sister is thinking of coming with us. The travel agency tell us that to add my sister to the reservation we have to cancel our reservation and make a new one, losing all promotional benefits.

We don't know yet if she is coming with us and we want to know if it would be possible to add her to the room upon our arrival or if it is possible to talk to the hotel to add her as a guest, we only want to keep our reservation with the promotions.

Is this a package deal, with room and tickets and possibly dining?

If so, then that is probably why you can’t add another person to the oom only.

Is a package deal room plus tickets, not dining plans.
In the MDE says this: Disney Resort Hotel Package Room Only
Room Type: Disney's All Star Music Resort-Standard Room

Don't worry, there is no reason to cancel anything. Whether you have a room only reservation or a package with tickets makes no difference. If your sister decides to join you buy her tickets separately and link them to your MDE account. Upon arrival at Music go to the front desk to check in and inform them that you will have a third person staying with you (the limit is four plus a child under 3 years of age). If she is over 18 be prepared to pay an extra adult fee of $15 per night. I have read that sometimes people are not charged the extra fee when registering someone at the last minute but that is not a sure thing. Enjoy your vacation.

Thank you so much. This is what I thought but I was afraid of arriving at the hotel and finding problems.

For some reason Disney pushes the room-only packages. Recently I added a request to a room-only reservation and the CM was really trying to sell me the package, even though I had deposited my room months ago. She kept saying it was better and I pointed out why I didn't want it. The OP found out the limitations of booking a room this way. I don't think the extras are worth it but as always ymmv.

Will your sister need the same amount of ticket days that you have on your package? If so, simply add her now - the price increase will simply be the price of your tickets plus the extra adult charge. If, for some reason, she doesn't need as many ticket days as you have, do as PPs said - purchase her tix separately and add her at check in.

If I'm reading the post correctly, the OP states that it's a room-only package. I don't see how adding an extra person would necessitate changing the reservation. The only change would be the extra-adult charge.

There are no problems so long as you wait until you arrive at the hotel and are completely checked in. The problem only occurs if you try to add someone to a package before physical check in, as they have to purchase the package also. We have added a person after check in many times and never had any problems doing so.

I'm very scared because my sister has already bought her package of tickets and has spoken with Disney over the phone. They told her that she can only stay in the room as a day guest unless we modify the reservation with the travel agency, and she won't be able to have early access to the parks. I don't know what to think... They told her to go to the front desk when we check in to be included only as a day guest... We are going to travel un two weeks...

Unfortunately, she got bad information. Once you arrive, go to the front desk and add her to the room. They will have no problem doing this. We do this almost every trip as our son never knows about time off from work until the last minute.

There is nothing to be scared about. You have a room only reservation for a room that sleeps four people of any age. Two adults are included in the price you were quoted. The third adult, your sister if she is over 18 years of age, will be added at check-in and most probably will incur a $15/night charge as an extra adult. She will be eligible for early access. Link the tickets she bought in your MDE account so that your account shows all three people and your are set to go. However, if you wish to purchase the new Multi Pass or Single Pass LL 7 days ahead of your check in date then she needs to show on your reservation at least 7 days before you arrive. Try going into your account and use Modify to add her or call Disney to add her. It is a very simple situation and if they say they cannot do that hang up and call again. Some CM's don't always know what they are talking about.

Several months ago it said 'room only package,' and now it says this: "4027 Disney Resort Hotel Package" It seems like they want us to change the package... We were lucky to get some extras with the reservation, and changing the package would make us lose them... Additionally, early access is important to us...

Thank you for your answers, it reassures me to know that it can be solved.

Okay so you have a package. That's a little bit different. You cannot make ANY changes to your package before you arrive otherwise you lose all the discounts/extras with your reservation and pay a new price that exists at time of change. Do not add your sister now. If your were planning on the new LL's that start on July 24 you and your wife would be able to pick rides 7 days ahead of your check in day but unfortunately not your sister as she does not show as a WDW guest. She could, however, pick rides 3 days before her first park day as she is considered an off-site guest (and you could wait to pick your rides together with her at that time). Nothing changes as far as adding her to your room at check-in and once registered she will be eligible for early access and have her own room key. Enjoy your vacation with your family.

Okay, thank you very much, we will wait to see what happens at the front desk and if not, we'll shed a few tears and see if they take pity on us and fix it. Thank you very much.

What if the room is club level? I have two daughters staying in one room and i could only get a club level room. We are all on separate packages with tickets + dining plan. Will they let me add them to my room once we are there so they can use the lounge and visit my room?
