Add-ons while on a Disney cruise?

Just wondering if anyone has ever done an add-on while on cruise and if so, how it is handled when you already have a guide.

Also, do they ever offer onboard-only incentives to add-on or are the incentives the same that shorebound DVCers would see?

Thanks!

We just cruised this past March and they were offering a $500 on board credit in addition to the $500 gift card. I do not recall if you needed to purchase 100 or 160 points. They also included the $10 off SSR or $8 off AKL with the credits and gift cards.

We added on our Magic cruise in January. The promos were the same and the guides on the ship handle your paperwork. There is even someone there from QA to get you through the paperwork. IIRC, if you added on something like 200 points, you got $500 onboard credit.

We added on 110 and got $10 off per point, '07 points, plus an additional 100 developers points. It was extremely easy...

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like something we'll consider doing on our August cruise!

My friend has been a DVC owner for years. She went on the member criuse last fall. After the cruise she wanted to add on but her DH said "NO! We will wait until the next member cruise we take!" because the incentives were that much better. I don't know what the difference was, but he is VERY money savvy, and would trust his judgement on this.
