Add on waitlist came through at...

BCV today. I went ahead with it. (50 points for December use year.) I knew it was going to come through before the VWL points and it did and fast! I asked my guide again about the VWL waitlist and was told I'm still 40th on add on waitlist for my use year, not VWL add on waitlist as a whole. (I was confused about that.) Still looks very unpromising there for the 70 points I wanted so I went ahead and took the BCV points cause I figure it will soon be hard to get add on points there, too. I think the waiting for VWL would kill me. I told him to take me off the list cause I just don't even wanna know if they do come through. I might really kick myself! Still not sure if I'm doing the right thing, but if this DVC really works for us and we're able to pay it off in a reasonable amount of time I guess we can always look at resales for VWL like others have said if it gets too hard to book there at 7 months. And we can always try trading with another member for our BCV points. SSR I think will be available for quite some time, too. Anyway, that is the scoop. I can finally give ya'll a break! LOL

Thanks floridafam. I don't think I'll go back on VWL add on waitlist any time soon. And by that point I would think with such a shorter contract date either SSR or a resale would be a better option for us. Just yesterday hubby was saying I'm making him add on and we haven't even used our DVC membership yet! I'm lucky he even let me do it. I'm thinking at least BCV is a good thing to have. Seems it will have nice trading power. Plus, I'm sure if we ever needed to sell the 50 point add on it would be easy. Add on is kinda bitter sweet... At least now I can worry about other things! LOL

You're already staying at VWL so at least you know you can get in there.

Actually, I feel much better about my decision today.
Last night someone from this board was kind enough to email me and tell me they have been on VWL add on waitlist for December use year for 6 months now. They started at 32 and now they are at 15. This is in line with what my guide told me that they have only called about 15 people off the waitlist in the last 6 months. At this rate it could have been a year and a half before I was called (I was at 40.) and I would have been freaking out for sure! Just the waiting would have killed me.

Now I just need to close in time to bank those points, which I don't think will happen. Anyone have any suggestions? (Banking deadline is end of September.)

lenshanem... Congratulations on your add-on. Personally, I think BCV is the best so, of course, I think you made the the right decision.

As far as the banking goes, call your guide, you should be able to bank them as an agreement in part of your purchase, you shouldn't have to wait until you close.

Terry S, my guide told me that you can't bank points until you close. I have heard of others banking beforehand with similar situations so I was a little confused about that... I guess I'll wait until I send back my paperwork and call my guide again or MS. I'm sure the paperwork won't come until later next week due to Labor Day?

Congrats of getting an add on.... I know BCV was your second choice.... but I think you will have good luck at the 7 months window, most times of the year, at VWL
