Add-on through Disney - previous years points?

I leave for WDW in 11 long days and am planning on walking through the sales center at SSR during my stay. I'm contemplating adding on a 25 point contract (March UY) at OKW and am wondering which year's points I should ask for - 2008, 2009? I think I had read that Disney will sometimes give previous year's points with an add-on, but I'm not sure how far back they will go and whether or not I'd be able to bank them into next year's UY.

I just added on at BCV with a DEC UY, got 2008 points (current use year), and was allowed to bank them.

I'm pretty sure all you can hope to get is the current use year points, which would be 2009 in your scenario.

March is 2009 Use Year at present : 3/1/2009 - 2/28/2010 so you will only

receive 2009 allotment of points if you purchase while on your trip.

On a direct purchase from Disney you'd have to purchase right before UY ends

in January or February 2010

to receive in a manner of speaking 2 allotments of points "at the same time"

- - you'd get 2009 UY points when you purchase in Jan or Feb 2010

and then on March 1 2010 you would receive 2010 UY points.

jmho, OKW is no bargain purchasing directly from Disney; even paying
closing fees with a resale contract you can probably do so much better price-wise and you may even find a small OKW resale with BANKED 2008 UY points, CURRENT 2009 UY points and all 2010 UY points coming on March 1 2010 ( so that'd be like saying 3 yrs worth of points by 3/1/2010 )

With a direct purchase you will always get points from the current Use Year (never from the previous Use Year). With a March Use Year there are no longer any points from the 2008 Use Year since they expired February 28, 2009.

Direct purchase for OKW will have the 2057 expiration date. Most OKW resales at this point still expire in 2042 - although there are some available with the extended date. At this moment the only contracts with any points from 2008 would have a December Use Year. Some resale contracts will come with banked 2008 points (some might even have banked 2007 points from a December Use Year).
