Add on Rumors...

We just joined in January. We are short 34 points for our next trip. So we are thinking of adding on to our BLT contract? Has anyone recently added on? What incentives if any did they get for 50 points? Would we get the points to use right away(needed for January 2010 trip)? We have a September use year. Any rumors of incentives changing? We just missed the last great set of incentives. Thank you everyone has been so nice and helpful.

We just added on 50 points. The "discount" incentives kick in at 50 points, but get bigger at 100 points. We paid 102 per point for our AKV add-on, which made sense since we got points from 2008 and 2009 to use right away for our August 2009 trip - the 2008 points almost feel like developer's points as a bonus.

BLT is $104.00 per point for 50 points, $98.00 per point for 100, and $96.00 per point for 125 or more!

And, many have said that they were able to break up into smaller contracts and still get the incentives!

Thanks for the information. We added on 50 more BLT points, yesterday. Our guide said that BLT is only thing that is selling and the incentives will be ending soon. He is a salesperson. Don't know how reliable that information is...

Your guide was incorrect. I bought 125 points at SSR yesterday, for $21 off the $112 price. My guide told me they were selling BLT, SSR, AKV and Grand Californian.

Just curious- if you add on mid year do you have to pay dues retroactively for the whole calendar year? IE, August Use Year, add on now, do I pay dues on the new points for all of calendar 2009 or do dues start when you purchase (or close?)...

Dues are prorated and will be paid from date of ownership. So if you buy 6 months into the year you would owe 6 months worth of dues.

How about this (didn't ask my guide, because I figure it is what it is..) - just bought 50 August points at AKV that included 2008 points. Do I pay prorated dues for both 2008 and 2009, or are the 2008 points "dues free"?

Just confirming...you bought 50 points at 102/pt. You got 50 2008 points along with this purchase?! (so like 50 banked points?!) You're right - that does feel like developers points. Please confirm for me when you can. We may just do this...

Yes! It was awesome. But note that when I talked to my guide about this (Friday), he said that there were only 200 AKV points remaining with 2008 points included for my use year (August), and we bought 50 of them - so I would call ASAP.

Annual fees start Jan 1. I believe the way it works is like this--for a Sept. UY, if I added on in Aug, I would get 2008 UY points as I am prior to the start of my 09 UY, and I would get 2009 points paying prorated fees from Aug thru Dec. So, 2008 points are free and 2009 points are 1/3 annual fees.
If I add on in Sept, I do not get 2008 points, but still get prorated fees. Wow--makes me want to add-on some!! Elaine

For clarification, BLT (according to our guide) is the only DVC that is selling in volume. Incentives will be changing for BLT. Look for improved incentives for AKV and GTV. Sorry for the confusion.

This is how it worked for us last year. Our use year is February. About two weeks prior to 1/31 we started talking about adding on 100 points. Once our guide told us that if we completed the sale prior to 1/25, we would get that years points (which they would allow us to bank), and then on 2/1 we got the new years allocation of points. Maintenance fees did not start until Feb, so we got 1 years points for "free". There was also the bonus of 100 developer points at the time. This purchase actually put us into a "use it or lose it" situation this past year and sadly, we just had to throw in one more extra trip to Disney, what a bummer!
