Add on Question. Please Help!!!!

After visitng WLV and reading some of the posts (especially LisaR's) on the resort, I am thinking of buying an add on on VWL. However I need some help here.
First, Can I make the purchase from Euador without going to Florida? I bought DVVC via resale and had to go to Florida to sign the papers. Disney won't even give information to people from other countries becasue (I heard) it would be considered soliciting, but I believe and add on is possible. Anybody know the official word on this?

Second, since I've not dealt with Disney, I don't know what the minimum amount of points for an add on is.

Finally, can I choose my use year to make it coincide with my use year at the BWV?

Looking forward to hearing an answer.

Aha! Ready to add on already! I can't answer the question about Ecuador. You need another Ecuadorian (I think you might be the only one on this board) or shoot an e-mail to DVC.

The minimum without financing is 25 points. For financing from Disney you must buy 50 points. I'm not sure what minimums are necessary for MB. Your Use Year hasto be the same. They won't sell you two different Use Years unless you buy a new minimum contract (150 points). I assume you saw the price will be going up in June.

pam are you sure about the add on having to be in the same use year? the reason I asked is when I did my next to last add-on at BWV, I was asked if I would consider another use year (not my agent). Considering I was only adding 35 more points, I say no. My agent when she came back got me what I want in my use year.

From the Member guidelines:
Addt'l ownership interests usually share the same use year as previously purchased interests.
Also in the binder:
25 points minimum add-on at home resort, 50 point minimum at any other DVC resort

Spiceycat they may make exceptions once a Use Year sells out. In general, they say you have to purchase the same Use Year. It would be good if they did make exceptions since it's a problem if you have a popular Use Year that sells out before the rest.

And as an addendum to kem330's quotes from the guidebook...they do seem to allow 25 point add ons at resorts other than your home resort. But that doesn't seem like it would go far...
