Add on points on sold out resorts from DVC?

HI. I am a little confused. Why do people purchase add ons straight from the developer for sold out resorts? I read someplace that people waitlist with DVC directly for OKW and BCV.

Do you pay the full $104 price for these?
Are there incentive bonus points for these resales like adding on to AKV or SSR right now?

Are there any advantages to doing this through DVC directly?

When you do an add-on from DVC, there are no closing costs, you get can the exact number of points you want, and you get the points much faster than going resale.

The older resorts are all less than $104.

Nope. No incentives aside from AKV and SSR.

And what you do get is points for the current UY. For instance, my UY is March. If I were to get a BWV add on of 50 points, I would get '07 points that I could bank as well as the '08 points, as long as I bought before March1.
