sure this has been asked in the past and likely asked in a more coherent way :rotfl: but..

say I add on a small number of points (50 or so) at a different resort then my home resort. I know I would be able to use the 11 month window at the new resort with those 50 add on points, but would I also be able to use my other points there or would those only be usable at the 7 month mark?

did that make any sense at all?

At 11 months, point usage is limited to the DVC resort they represent only- although they may be used for non-DVC options at that time. At 7 months, points may be combined with your other contracts for use at any of the DVC resorts.

Enjoy!

okay but let me ask this now, are the add-on point in a seperate numbered account? Would you be able to transfer points from one acount to the other and then have them available?

If you purchase fewer than 150 points from Disney, they will be the same UY as your master contract and will be set up as an add-on contract to that master contract. It will have the same base contract number with an ".001" extension. The points are easily combined for the purposes of making a reservation at the 7-month window (if the points are at different resorts) or at the 11-month window if the points are at the same resort. You don't need to transfer the points from one contract to another, you just tell MS which points to use for the reservation. For example you could use 50 Resort X points and 50 Resort Y points for a 100-point reservation at Resort Z.

Banking percentages are based on your total points, which is very helpful. For example, if are within your 25% banking window and had used all 150 of your master contract points and none of your 50 add-on points this UY, you could bank all 50 of your add-on contract points because those 50 add-on points represent 25% of your total points.

Hope this helps!

I think I know what you're asking. Say you buy a small add-on (50 points) at BCV. Can you transfer your SSR points to your BCV contract in order to make a one-bedroom BCV reservation at the 11-month mark? No, you can't. You can bank and borrow your BCV points to have up to 150 available at one time, but you can't transfer your SSR points to your BCV contract.
