Hi everyone... we are interested in doing an add-on at SSR before the price goes up.

I called my guide last night and was asking a million questions since this would be our first add-on.

We had decided that we would do a 100 pt add-on, but wait till it's closer to the end of Feb, and still get the discount.

She then checked something, and said "Oh no! I didn't look before, but it seems that there are only 264 points left with your UY."

Do you HAVE to have the same UY on all add-ons?? She made it seem that you can't choose your UY, that you must have the same one.

She said that she had "4000 in UYxx and 2000 in UYxx" so why can't we still wait and pick a different UY??

I really like our guide, but I did feel a little pressured. Like we better do it NOW, or we will have to wait until Stage III, and 2006 points.

Does this seem right? Any input appreciated!

We really want to do this add-on, and would really like to use the 2005 points, but would prefer to wait until the end of Feb when we'll have our tax return back to pay DP upfront.

I'm just curious, which use year do you have versus the use years that have so many points available?

Thanks!

Our Use Year is April, and the 4000 were for May, 2000 for March.

Yes, it's my understanding that Disney only sells add ons with the same use year. We're on a waitlist for BWV, March.

To get a new use year, you would need to buy a minimum of 150 points.

She was not pressuring you, but rather being honest, IMHO. You must have the same use year (or buy a new minimum 150 point contract) to do an add on direct through Disney.

Thanks everyone.. I knew you guys would give me the 411 on this!

I didn't know that there was a breaking point on what is considered an add-on and a new contract! I guess it's 150 points.

GCM13.. I PM'd you.

They are really selling! That happened to me last year, when I wanted to add on in 2004 at SSR. My UY was sold out, so I had to purchase Phase II points (I really could of used those 2004 points and had to borrow 2005). My UY is March and it would have worked out great because I would have gotten 2004 points and only paid dues for 2 months if they had them available.

Just confirming what the others said. She wasnt pressuring you. I know how you feel though. When my guide told me the prices were increasing or the incentives were going to end, I felt pressure too, but she wasnt lying! LOL

I am so glad we purchased when we did. We added on extra points at BVC and BWV right before they went to $89 ppt. We added on at SSR and received the 2 AP's.

Remember, you can get the points now, and fill out the paperwork finally after you have your tax return. The upfront costs would be the $500 deposit. Then they send you the documents to sign and you technically have 14 days to get them back, but I have never heard of DVD not giving you a little more time.

With our add-on in August, we got the documents at the end of August, forgot about them for most of September, and finally returned everything with downpayments in early October. Now I realize this was not nice to do to our beloved Guide, but they're not going to revoke your purchase when they are so gung-ho to sell, just bcs you are two weeks later than they said they wanted your docs.

And if you were going to pay cash for the add-on, why not do the financing thing, and just pay in full once they open your building (ie when the first payment is due).

Another thought: are they still doing the APs for the 130 point add-ons? If so, what about those extra 30 points? Any siren calls coming from the APs you could get for just those extra $2,550?
