Add on? Need thoughts/advice please

We currently own 150 pts at SSR with a Feb use year. There's just the 2 of us, and we normally go to WDW in Sept, occasionally in May. This year we took our DD and her family the first week of June, so we had to borrow points. We are thinking of adding on 50-100 pts so that we can take guests, and still have enough points that DH and I can go by ourselves for a few nites if we want. We don't stay more than 4 nites, and we don't care about DCL or any perks offered by buying direct.

So... am I correct that it wouldn't matter what resort we buy for our add on? We have never had any problems getting what we want at 7 months out. But I am confused when it comes to UY's, and not sure if we should look at only Feb or be open to other UY's.

If you really don't care which resort then SSR, AKL (might be good if you ever bring little ones) or OKW would be the least expensive DW resorts.

For ease of booking and keeping track of the points I would look for Feb UY first. If you find *the* perfect contract and it isn't a Feb UY make sure you take time to educate yourself 100% on how to book using two different accounts. And how you could transfer points from one acct to the other if needed.

I read all the time that 2 accounts can be managed easily as long as you are diligent keeping up with them.

There is a sticky on understanding UY and I had to read it 20 times before I really understood it, too. You are not alone. DH and I do not have children and we love taking his Mom and my parents. I love spoiling them. This will be his brother's second or third trip with us this fall. Like you , I have thought adding on 50 points would give us a little cushion. We purchased 210 points instead of 200 for that "cushion". We stay in studios to get 2 studios in the fall and another in May--and have enough points. I have had to purchase the 24 one time points for our last two May trips because we did not have enough for both trips. I look at resales all the time...just pondering.

We have a DEC UY which is horrible for us making trips in the fall. If we have to cancel an Oct/Nov trip we only have til the end of Nov to use points. However with our May trips, if I cancel, I have until July 31 to bank.
