ADD-on, How do they work?

If I buy a small contract for HHI, once I am in the system can I buy an add on to any other resort from disney or can it only be HHI?

Any other resort. However, unless you buy 150 or more points and put it under another master contract, they will only let you add-on using the same Use Year as your master. Therefore, if you want one of the sold out resorts you may have to sit on a waiting list for weeks or months while they accumulate the points that match your UY.

There is a minimum of 25 pts for any add-on. If you want to finance the purchase, you need to add at least 50. And there are also minimum thresholds to take advantage of discount pricing. For example, the current $86 price for SSR points requires an add-on of at least 115 pts. If you buy less than that, I believe the price is the published rate of $101 each. Typically no discounts are offered for the other sold-out resorts.

BCV, BWV and VWL are $95/pt, OKW is $92/pt. I don't know the current prices to add on at HHI and VB. At one time there was a discounted price of $87/pt but that was a while ago and I don't know if that is still in effect. There are no closing costs when adding on. Points are often available immediately or within a few weeks at all resorts except BCV. The wait for points at BCV can be 4-6 months. Yes you can do any add on. You don't have to get up to 150 pts. You could buy 25 resale as your first purchase then add on 25 at a different resort if you wanted to go that route. As pointed out, it'd have to be the same use year as your first purchase but that's true with any add on regardless of how many points you own. For smaller amounts it's not that difficult to find the points as an add on. You can look resale at the same time as you're on the wait list through DVC and take what comes first that fits your needs.
