Add-On Contracts...

Once you are a DVC member, what is the smallest add-on contract that you can purchase? I know for first time buyers you need to buy 150 points, but wasn't sure about add-ons.

I thought I read somewhere that it is 25...

25 minimum cash buy. 50 minimum for financing thru DVC.

And you ususally need to buy at least 100 to take advantage of any promotional pricing being offered. For the 2 free APs w/ SSR add-on, it's a minimum of 130 pts

I think I'm catching the add-on bug...after last week's trip to OKW thinking of another 40+ points. Shhhh...haven't told DH yet! It's gonna be tough stretching our 160 SSR points, though.

ArnyVee & disneydiva58...you guys are good! I'm new at this and, of course, we had grandparents with us this trip as well as the three of us requiring a 2BR. Even in August I needed to borrow 2005 points for a 6 night stay at OKW. I just don't see much possibility in the near future of studio stays for us (though DH and I hope to make an occasional "alone" trip in the future when DS is off to college). DS (15) is at the age he wants a friend along, so next August we've promised he can bring someone. We might be able to do a 1BR for that trip (rather than a 2BR), which would still require us to borrow from 2006 for 5 nights. We make the long drive from NJ as DH and DF don't fly well. Anything less than 5 nights is not worth the 18 hour drive each way. Now if we flew I could see it being possible to do 3-4 day trips here and there. Of course, it would be much easier to work with 160 pts. if we moved closer (NC, SC, FL) when DS heads to college...a real possibility as I've already been searching the web for real estate! Guess we all have to be creative due to our own circumstances.
