Add on at VWL or BCV

We are considering a small add-on at either VWL or BCV. Are the wait times for available points about the same at both resorts, or is one easier to get than the other?

I would say that VWL is much easier to get than BCV. You'll likely have no wait for VWL. Depending on your use year and the number of points you want, you might have to wait a bit for BCV.

WE were down at SSR last week and did a 60 point add on at the BCVs on the spot (April UY)

What is the current cost of the add-ons through Disney? Are they the same at all of the properties?

My husband and I were just discussing a similar add-on (between the same 2 properties) yesterday. We currently own and VWL and LOVE it, but thought an small add-on someplace else might be the perfect complement.

Until 6/30/06 the per-point cost of an add-on at one of the sold-out resorts is $92.00. It is going up to $95 pp after 6/30/06.

We have had no problem adding on at VWL in the past. I called our guide a few weeks ago because we wanted to add at BCV, but he said that there are at least 50 people ahead of us on the wait list for our use year. We added on at BWV instead because those points were immediately available. We're also on the wait list for BCV but I am not holding my breath!

I was told my December use year VWL had no points. We'll have to waitlist if we decide to. Currently $92, points go up to $95 July 1st.

We are Aug use year, anyone have recent experience? I am leaning toward VWL (thinking about xmas). Thanks for the info about the points going up in June! That might make a difference as well...I read somewhere that they will let you pass on one price increase while on the waitlist, but 50 ppl ahead of you could take a while.

Yes, I was told they'll honor the old price increase one time if on a waitlist.

We called last Tuesday (after finding who our guide is- we bought resale and was assigned a guide) the 18th, and was told there may be two 25 point contracts that would fit our needs. The guide had to check if they were still available. My wife finally called back today to see what was happening and the guide at first said they were gone, but then after checking said that we had them! This is Monday the 24th so less than a week?

We had a contract we were buying back in November that DVC took at ROFR, so it seems their aggresive buying of BCV had opened up some resale points. This is acutally working out better for us as two 25 points should be easy to resell if necessary, and we only needed about 50 additional points for the way we vacation. At BCV it seems resales are actually costing more than the DVC add on cost of $92 (I hope thats right) since I believe there are no closing cost and we can put the whole thing on our Disney Visa, pay it off, and get the credits. (pardon run on sentence- I took the minimum amount of English classes required by law as I figured I was never going to England anyway)

For my use year its the waitlist for all BW, BC and WL. However my guide initially thought I had an August year and there was availability (although I'm not sure for which).

Check out the Timeshare store listing for an August use year at VWL. I just passed on one because in the end, it wasn't the same as my Oct use year BWV points.

Twice I have asked my guide where we were on the list (since we went on the beginning of March) and both times he said, "It's all computerized, I can't see the list, the computer will just do it when you're next in line and points become available."
Is this true? I've seen many people on these boards say that their guide told them where they were on the list or how many people were ahead of them. Are we getting a runaround?

My guide can see the list but tells me he is not supposed to tell me the details such as where I am on that list. So he gives me a vague idea such as "there are not that many people ahead of you".
