If they retain their original resort status, then it would not make sense to transfer them. You would have the same odds booking at 7 months no matter where the points were. What is the benefit of transferring?
If you owned at OKW, but wanted a BW view 1BR at BWV for a trip next year, there is little likelyhood getting that reservation at 7 months. If you have BWV points transferred into your account, you may use those points to make the BW view reservation at 11 months - just like BWV owners.
In the past, since MS could not automatically track those transferred points, you would need to have them manually track the points so you could make your own reservation, but they would do it (and still will).

... It is my understanding that it usually doesn't happen this way - hence, people are able to do exactly as you suggested and utilize the 11 month booking window no matter where the points were transferred from.
In the scenario described by the OP, it could not be done, since MS won't allow you to transfer points within the same contract. It
could happen if you had points transferred into your account from another member - as long as MS continues to resist accurately tracking transferred points.
With the recent emphasis made by
DVC about these transfers, I wouldn't be surprised to see more effort made by MS to correctly track transferred points to eliminate the "morphing" issue. The information is already in the computer data for the account, it's just a matter of MS taking the time/effort to use the points as stated in the rules.
Time will tell if this actually happens. Stay tuned!
