Add Disney dining

You can't add dining upon arrival. Call disney and ask if you can add it to your package at least a week before you plan to arrive.

I don't think you can add it at all. Dining has to be purchased in a package with tickets and room, with no discounts on the room. I don't think you qualify for that.

I agree. The Dining Plan is part of a package. You need to have booked a room, park admission and the plan together. The room needs to be at rack rate, i.e. no room discounts to be eligible.

I had a room only reservation for this Christmas, and wanted to add dining and park tickets, the first person I talked too said I had to cancel my original reservation and book a new one with complete package, which the resort I was booked at wasn't available for rebooking. I have back to back reservations because of a season change midway thru stay. I called back and that person told me I could change my room only reservation to a package with tickets and dining. She had to put me on hold for about 30 minutes to get everything straighten out, but I was able to keep the reservation at same resort that I had originally booked with the added park tickets and dining. The second park of my reservation is at the same resort. I didn't want to do a split stay. We tried that last year. It went very smooth, but we just like staying in one place at a time.

Yes, that is another way to do it when you previously have had a room ressie only. The issue with the OP though, I think will be that it was booked through AA. If they gave a discount on the room, they will not allow dining to be added. If there was no discount, then it might be able to be added, but not when you get there, like was already mentioned. It has to be before your arrival. All you can do is call Disney and ask - the worst they can say is no.
