Add dining later?

I need to pay off my package soon and we want to add a dining plan. Can I pay it off this week so I can get the points on my Disney Visa and then add dining later and get more points? We go in the middle of August. Thanks!

Yes I believe you can ... up to 72 hours before your arrival date. I also believe it will be processed as a new reservation. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

If you already have a package reservation (room + tickets), you can add the DP within 72 hours of arrival (and pay for it immediately). It is not considered a new reservation; you are simply modifying your existing one.

If you have a room-only reservation and want to change it to a package, it will be processed as a new reservation, and the previous one cancelled. And then you run the risk of no availability.
