Add a night for cheaper FLIGHT.

We added an extra last year and made it a Sunday to Saturday stay after we arrived, and got an afternoon flight at 6:30PM and saved about $80 on the flight and added one night at CBR for $155. So for an extra $75, we got an extra day and they gave us one more day of free dining. Not a bad trade-off.

I'm doing this in just two weeks, the flight was much cheaper and I was able to get in at 7pm instead of having to do the REALLY early 6am flight ( which is always a bit painful)

Also is DME travel tied to the day of my flight? ( actually I could just leave my original flight info that was for the next day on the original package plan. they don't know I flew in the night before on a different flight? )

I would just call DME and explain what you are doing for them to note it on your reservation. They would not be getting your bags in this case, so I don't think the flight information is important to them. Only the date and time you would want to take the bus.

We just decided that we are going to extend our trip in October one more night due to flights being much cheaper flying on Wednesdays. We have 5 nights booked at CSR but we thought we would fly out a day early but take a later flight so the kids wouldn't miss school that day. This will also play perfectly into our surprise to the kids .

I would absolutely add that night. Even if you aren't saving as much as flight difference--for example I'd rather give 300 to Disney and get an extra night then 200 to the airline. Have a fun trip!

Now I'm thinking of doing this since this time it might save us some money.

We are thinking of flying out on a Wednesday but at an airport a little over an hour away. The flights are $500 cheaper than our closest airport.

We would drive up a day before and do a park/sleep/fly package at a hotel near the airport since we want an early morning flight. The cheapest I could find for a DECENT hotel (that doesn't look disgusting) is $160 for the night which included free parking while away.

I'm thinking of driving up that Tuesday like we planned and doing an afternoon flight. Something around 2-3 pm and getting to Disney a day earlier. I could stay at POP for $90. I could pay the parking fee at the airport or a nearby hotel for about $5 a day. I would still be saving money.

Decisions....decisions...

You forgot the best part, you'll be IN DISNEY a day earlier!!!

We LOVE the airport Hyatt, can't say enough good things about it. I find myself intentionally trying to book late-night flights now just so we have an excuse to stay there, lol! And DME won't be a problem, since you'll be taking it on the day you check into your Disney resort.

I'm usually all in favor of adding a day... just to be fair though, make sure you are factoring in the additional cost of what you will DO on that extra day. At least for us, those "extra" days end up being pretty expensive by the time we fill them with things to entertain and feed us!

We've done that a few times and stayed in a villa at OKW or even off property if we had a car that trip.

My one night RO got even cheaper. Just rebooked to a standard room and hopefully we won't have to change rooms for FD.

While many are talking about the Hyatt remember you need to keep little ones occupied if you have an afternoon flight. Then travel time in the morning to get to Disney, get your bags with bell services before you are off and running ME can often take a couple of hours depending on number of stops. You may end up there only a couple of hours earlier. A RO at a value may work better. You can check in, use the pool, still have ME to the resort and they'll take your luggage. You will truly be ready to hit the parks first thing in the morning.
(Never tried it but can you stick your ME luggage tags for the second resort on the bags a day early? Will bell services hold them? That way they will be at your end resort the next day and no need to transfer luggage. Just pack a carry on with one night essentials.)
We fly JetBlue as well and usually out of PVD. I flew SW once only because it was the only direct flight to Nashville. Not a fan of no assigned seats and I was in A boarding but people saving whole sections. No thank you. I like my row 4 seats D, E, and F every trip.

I just changed my flight to the day before to avoid a SUPER early flight on the original arrival day. It cost me $10 more for the flight, and a night's hotel, but also got another day FD so it was a wash.
Sorry you couldn't get the extra dining day, but regardless it sounds like a better deal starting your vacation a day earlier!!! :)

Due to this post (thank you OP) I changed my super early flight to the night before. I found availability at Wilderness Lodge in a villa just cost me some extra pts but got a credit on the flights!

This going to be much better for the fam for sure

If you fly into MCO and stay at the hyatt, I don't think you can have DME take your luggage directly to the hotel. I believe if you fly in, you would have to retrieve your own luggage, go to the hyatt and then when you check out of the hyatt, you would have to bring all your luggage with you to
the DME. Am I correct?

We've decided to stick with our original plan of flying in the morning instead of the night before.

I took off an extra day because we thought we were gonna drive. Since we're flying now I can work that day and go to the hotel near the airport after work. Then fly out the next morning.

I found a hotel for $107! Just last week the cheapest one was $169!

We have done that on our last two trips! I would rather spend the money at disney than on the airlines! They get enough of my money :) The first time we moved from Boardwalk to Art of Animation Little Mermaid rooms, cost me $137.00 and we still got magical express. Super easy!
