Adam and Katies 10/2/2010 SBP/Attic/?? ~ brainstorming!

So I have a few quick updates for today.

First I think i found the perfect tux for adam and his GM (depending if his brothers go or not:rolleyes1) I haven't shown it to him yet so IDK if he'll like it or not but if he does we may need to change our colors... i know i know another color change. But its not a big one...promise! Anyway so here is a link to the tux. (it wouldn't let me save the picture:mad:)

http://www.menswearhouse.com/webapp...ory_rn=10728&top=10651&selectedOccasion=23156

I love the look of it and I like how the turqouise looks with it. Just make those boots pink and thats my wedding... Ta Da!!!!:yay: So maybe instead of having the chocolate brown i could have that tan color instead? or just have the turquoise and pink and let their tux color be the accent color? Mandy... thoughts?.... anyone else have any thoughts??:confused3 I just think I like how that tux will look with the BW/BC/YC theme. Very nautical you know!:snooty: Does anyone think it'll be too casual next to my "couture" gown? (That always makes me laugh... couture!:lmao:)

Ok another update... I moved my time from the 5 to the 2:30 and confirmed it with my WC today! :banana:I also asked her some questions about having a small private party and she gave me good advice. I was sure they'd pressure me into spending alot but she wasn't like that at all, she said that with my small guest list it wouldn't be worth it for me to spend all that money on it. She said one of the best places to eat in that SBP area was flying fish and our families both like fish so I think we might just do that after the ceremony. :goodvibes I'm going to go do some research on that place once i'm done with this post. :surfweb:

Lastly I got home today and got a CD from Randy and STVS!!! :woohoo:I totaly wasn't expecting one but as soon as i could get the dogs outside i ran to the laptop and put it in!!! I even saw a few of your DISers in there!:worship: thank you all again for being my randy inspiration! It was pretty cool to see their work! i can't WAIT to work with randy! I'm not very photogenic so fingers crossed i look as good as you all did!:lovestruc

Alright well i'm off to post on some of your threads and then do some more research on flying fish!

Ok first of all, LOVE LOVE LOVE the tuxes (slash suits) I think they are great. And technically brown is tan so it works!!

And second, I am totally jealous that you got a CD from Randy and Stan!!! I guess I could ask for one, but suprises are soooo much better!!

Yay!!! I got twinnies approval!!!:goodvibes Yea i didn't ask for one but i'm trying to remember and I think I first inquired about them a week or two ago and i definitely didn't ask for a CD so maybe you'll be getting on in the mail soon!!! It definitely was a pleasant surprise!:thumbsup2

So last night I finally got to show DF the picture of the suits i thought he should wear at the wedding and...... Drum roll please............ He liked them!!! :woohoo::yay: He said he wants to try it on and make sure its something that looks good on him but that he will definatly consider wearing it! I was so excited! I thought he would hate them.

Oh and I talked to GDSis (the G stands for good) last night and i found out that BDSis (the B standin for BAD!!!) actually has been saying alot of negative things to ALOT of people about the wedding behind my back. So GDSis wasn't surprised when i told her the story about what she said to me on facebook. I think eventually i might confront her and just let her know that she doesn't need to come OR be in the wedding for that matter if she does not agree with what we are doing. :snooty: I am sooooo done letting her rain on MY parade!

Ok that is all... i should probably get back to work now:rolleyes1

YAY!! Good for you!! The last thing you need on your wedding day is stress. All this hard work and stress is supposed to leave to a beautiful STRESS FREE day!!!:cool1:

good evening ladies! How was everyone's holiday weekend??

Sorry I haven't updated in a few days but we've been pretty busy! We worked well into the night on friday on the bathroom, saturday morning we took the dogs for a 7 mile walk in this pretty park we like thats all woodsy, then finished the bathroom!!:cool1:

Today my sister, dad and dad's g/f came over for a mini BBQ before they had another party to go to and it was really nice to have them over the house. :goodvibes My dad's g/f was really up for our escape wedding and once i explained a few more things to my dad he seemed 100% on board too. :thumbsup2

After they left DF and I were having some working on the house withdrawal so we headed to Home Depot and ordered new counter tops! :woohoo: They'll take 3-4 weeks to come in so it gives us time to paint and get the kitchen ready for them!

Ok so enough about home improvements on to wedding plans. :cloud9: I'm trying to figure out where we should stay. I think using all of my aunts points for our honeymoon isn't fair to her so I talked to DF about it and he agreed that maybe we should rent DVC points like we did on our last trip for 4 nights and then use my aunts for three nights. That way she still feels like she gave us a gift without us using all her points for that year. :thumbsup2 So where should we stay?

AKV?
BCV?
BWV?
VWL?
OKW?

Any opinions on where we should stay? :confused3They all have their pros and cons (all mostly pros) I'd love to hear from you girls on this one.

Well i'm off to bed.... work in the morning... :headache:

That's an awesome tux! Too bad DF and I are super pale!

I've never done DVC so I can't recommend any, but the pics of AKL and WLV are beautiful

Hey Sam!

Glad you Like the Tux/suit! The fact that DF is alittle on the albino side worries me about him wearing this but i'm going to politely suggest that before the wedding we go tanning.... Not sure how that will go but i think with some of my excellent debating skills, a power point presentation, and persistent begging i can turn him Metro-sexual and get him in that tanning bed!:lmao:

As far as where to stay I should've listed some things i like about each place and gone into alittle more detail in my last post. So let me try this again....

AKV

Pros:
we stayed there on our last trip (the trip we were engaged on:lovestruc) so it hold a special place in my heart.
I thought it was a beautiful resort and know that we will be happy there. :goodvibes
I think Randy would have a great time taking shots of us in the lobby before the ceremony!:cloud9:
Low points!:woohoo:

Cons:
It is alittle ways away from SBP, not that big of a deal but something to think about.
We've already stayed there and something DF and I like to do it stay in a new resort everytime we go. Again not a big deal but needs to be said i guess.
The lobby is pretty dark.... will Randy be able to take beautiful pictures in there and have them come out nice?

BCV

Pros:

Its lovely there!:cloud9:
Close to SBP, i mean really we could walk to it!:thumbsup2
Defiantly get some amazing pictures there!
The pool!!!:woohoo:
Close to our favorite park EPCOT!
We've never stayed there before

Cons:

Higher in points which = more money we have to shell out. :scared:
(I think thats the only con...:confused3)

BWV

Pros:

Walking distant to SBP which means less travel time which means more photo ops with Randy!
Never stayed here before
Close to EPCOT
There seems to always be something to do on the BW

Cons:

Higher in points too
Heard it can be noisy

OKW

Pros:

sooooo pretty!:cloud9:
Larger studio rooms to get ready in!:thumbsup2
Very peaceful and quiet
Low points

Cons:

Already stayed here
I dont think DF "gets" OKW
Never seen pictures of brides in the area.... maybe not good for pictures?:confused3

VWL

Pros:

Actually got engaged on a carriage ride here:love:
Never stayed here before and would LOVE to!
Seen some really pretty pictures of brides here:bride:
Close to MK
Lots of outdoor activities.... we love those!
Seems really peaceful and quiet
We love the heavily themed resorts like this!:cloud9:

Cons:

Higher points
Far from SBP

Ok so there you all have it. I'm trying to looks at the con's and think of ways to turn them into pros and as far as high points go we DON'T need to buy park tickets because we're getting the annual passes, so that saves us money! AND we are only going to be paying for points for the first half of the week and my aunt will give us her points for the rest... AND its out honeymoon! we should stay where we want!!! :snooty:

Ok with this info where do you think we should stay?
Far from SBP

i havent stayed at any DVC but im all for BWV or BCV because of the location...its central to EPCOT and DHS and the boardwalk area at night is great

We are talking about the same thing right now!! Except we are considering buying DVC vs. renting.

My vote is the Boardwalk. The only con to me is the extra long hallways :rotfl: I did NOT like SSR nor do I think I would like OKW (Not enough Disney for me)

WLV are nice...but far from everything. DF really wants to stay at AKV too.

Was I any help, haha.:lmao: Seriously, I vote for Boardwalk!

Ok so thats two votes for BWV and one for BCV. (meghan I'll let you vote twice:rotfl:)

DF's suggestion is that we stay at VWL (he really likes it there) for the beginning part of the vacation and then move to BWV for the rest of it. That way we get to stay in two resorts! I've always wanted to do a split stay... it seems like you get two vacations!!:thumbsup2

He is pretty positive he wants to stay at VWL at some point so i kind of feel like we should.

Any of you done a split stay before? I'm guessing its pretty easy to move from one resort... i mean if they can get your luggage from MCO to your resort i'm sure this wouldn't be a big deal.

I vote split stay! And eithier WVL then BWV or WVL then BCV, then you get the best of both worlds:goodvibes Dave and I are doing a split stay for the wedding/honeymoon and staying YC the Poly. I don't think it will be a big deal and I know alot of brides have done that. Plus I agree it makes it seem like 2 vacations (or in our case a wedding and a honeymoon)

Yea i think we're going to do VWL and BWV. :lovestruc I just got wicked excited thinking about it!!! Idk which one we'll stay in first but i'm so excited! Renting points on the DVC boards worked out awesome for us last time. So worth it to stay in those hotels. :goodvibes

Split stay is super easy! They will even move your bags for you!!!

They WILL!?!?! I wasn't 100% sure but thats awesome!:woohoo:

Do any of your girls know how to have your room decorated for the wedding night? You know the cliche rose petals and stuff? I want to do soemthing special for us that night.

How about I make a trip down and do it for you!!:rotfl:

Lol...no you don't have to worry about that. I will help myself to chocolate covered bride and groom strawberries and be out of there!:drive:

:laughing:Ok I'll pay you in chocolate covered bride and groom strawberries!

So i brought up the idea of the split stay to DF and he is totally on board with it! he even said the same resorts that i was thinking... VWL and then BWV! So can i rent my points now??? :lmao:

Hey we did a split stay on our HM. It was super easy. If you guys want to, do it!!

You can't go wrong with any of the places you want to stay!!

Thanks lynn!!! I really can't wait... IDK what i'm going to do with myself for another year and 4 months!!! :scared: Is there anything I should know or start doing as an escape bride? We have Randy booked but i'm wondering when we should start the booking of the JP. Any advice Lynn?
