Thinking about inviting our friends this summer for a little getaway in HH. There will be 4 of us, 2 couples, early 30s. Will we be bored there? And will a 1 bd room be enough to share among 4 adults? Thanks.

HH has lots of activities for all ages- especially adults. Lots of dining options, shopping, golf, tennis, boating, sightseeing, biking, canoeing, kayaking, parasailing and plain old relaxing- plus some nice programs at the resort itself.

The 1BR is OK for 4, but realize that one bed is the sleep sofa in the living room/kitchen and one bathroom. It will be cozy. You might consider a 2BR for more comfort and privacy.

If you are wanting a summer reservation, you had better make it quickly as there are only 26 1BR villas and the summer months do fill up very quickly. A 2BR may be easier to reserve.

Good Luck!

HH is a wonderful location for all age groups. I suggest that you check out Tommy Towery's website for a list of sites related to HH. As for the 1 BR question, so long as one couple is content with sleeping on a pull-out sofa, you have sufficient sleeping room. The closet situation might be limited, though. I would opt for the 2 BR. Good luck!!!

My family just returned from Hilton Head yesterday and three of us stayed in a two bedroom and boy are we spoiled. Like the posters above mentioned, you will probably have more room to spread out and privacy with the two bedroom unit. Whatever you decide, you will have loads of fun at Hilton Head, you can even call the resort and they will fax you an activities schedule before you arrive. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone. It definitely makes me want to go to HH this summer, probably for a 2 bedroom.

One more question.... is HH self contained, or do you usually go outside of the resort? How Disney is the resort? (Meaning, are there lots of characters or just laid back relax kind of hotels?) And how many days you stay there?

Thanks again.

As far as the resort being self-contained, I guess it depends on how well prepared you are when you check into the resort. If you do your grocery shopping on the way in (there is a Publix, Sam's Club, Piggly Wiggly and Harris Tetter all on 278 before you turn off into Shelter Cove where the resort is located) plus there are several restaurants within walking distance (like Scott's Fish Market where we had a great seafood meal). I noticed a lot of people riding their bikes around the island, including to Disney's beach house located at Palmetto Dunes across 278 and to several area restaurants.

There were so many activiites at the resort (swimming, ping pong, dolphin discovery tours, storytelling, campfires, etc.) that we rarely left the property except to go to the Hilton Head Diner and some outlet shopping. As far as the resort having "Disney" touches, they are there but more subtle than you would find "on property" which suited my DH perfectly. When you first arrive and get beyond the gates, there are a Pooh and Tigger topiary and I think they have a list of hidden Mickey's throughout the resort but there are no characters (at least not the Mickey and Minnie variety).

The two bedroom units are laid out wonderfully and your friends will enjoy having their own "studio" type accommodations. I spent a bit of time in the "studio" portion of our two bedroom to get a feel for it and I think DH and I could be comfortable staying in one in the future, but of course, I would prefer at least a one bedroom for the space and that fabulous jacuzzi tub.

We spent 6 days there this trip and it was definitely NOT long enough. We are planning a trip for next December and plan on spending 10 days starting December 26th. Anymore questions, just ask away!
