Hi! This will be my first trip on the DCL and I was wondering how safe the activities are for small children. I have a four and five year old and I am concerned about leaving them in these programs they have. I would love some advice from any experienced cruisers. Thanks!

I suppose it depends on your kids but we have a 5 year old that loved it. We often peaked in and watched and thought things looked fun and safe. They break them into age groups so activities are age approproate. Our daughter often asked to go there or wanted to stay longer. Same goes for our 9 year old. He would have stayed there most of the cruise if we let him. Remember, they give you a pager and, if your child wants you, they just have to ask and you will be paged.

My kids, 7 and 9 felt so comfortable in their clubs that they decided to stay on board while we went to St. Thomas. And we felt comfortable leaving them - in fact, we got back and they still didn't want to leave. Of course, my guys are a bit older but they are good about keeping track of everyone, going over the rules. Are you worried about the actual activities or whether they're being supervised well? Check out a Navigator online to see the various activities.

My DD was 3 when we went on our cruise and I felt very comfortable leaving her. My friends would have been very surprised because I am a stay at home Mom and we were joined at the hip.:) You pick a password to give before they release the child to you and you also get a pager. They notify you the minute they have a problem- I know this for a fact because we didn't get very far before we were paged after dropping my DD off. She was crying. She did want to try it again before the end of the trip when Snow White was there to play with the kids. The parents were allowd to stay. It was very cute. I brought the video camera and it's one of my favorite memories of that vacation.:D
