I read on another thread about all of the activities available at the AKL, especially for children (ie bead activities, cookie decorating, etc.) and was curious what the CR had to offer. We will be splitting our stay between CR and AKL and I am debating on whether to add in H2O parks and Disney Quest with our park tickets or just take advantage of what the resorts have to offer. My kids are DD 9 and DS 7. We have also already scheduled Pirate Cruise for son and My Disney Princess Tea for daughter. Also we have yearly passes to our own local water park owned by Busch Gardens. Not sure if Disney Quest is worth it, son is a total game nut (Xbox, gameboy, etc). Our schedule is 4 nights CR, 5 nights AKL, 6 day park hopper passes, and 2 non park days (1 of which is day for pirate cruise and tea - both end by noon).

Suggestions please!!!

Cr has the largest video game room in WDW. They also have a Mouseketeer Club where parents can have a night out and children ages 4-12 have an evening of supervised activities such as computer games, Disney movies, dinner and snacks in an environment just for kids.
Spend a day just relaxing at the pool/hotel, rent a boat and take the kids for a nice ride on the lakes.

I believe I read on a previous thread that the mousekeeter club house at the Contempoary had closed.

The video arcade at CR is fabulous. It has every video game you can imagine and then some. I didn't look into other activities that the resort offers because our kids are younger, and we headed to MK whenever we could. We did go to the pool and the arcade several times. There are small beach areas on either side of CR, and our kids enjoyed digging in the sand there as well. There is also a fairly nice playground area. The best part about CR is you can walk to MK in 10 minutes, and you can take the monorail. There were a few times when we took the monorail just for the fun of it. On a non-park day, you can also watch the MK fireworks from the 4th floor observation deck if you don't have a view from your room. We didn't partake in any organized resort activities and our kids were certainly never bored.

In your situation I would plan on spending 3 of your 4 days going to MK and/or Epcot (via the monorail). I imagine you will use 1 day for your pirate cruise/tea party. The remainder of that day you could spend some time in the arcade and maybe have a special dinner at Chef Mickey's or Ohana (take the monorail to the Poly). If MK has early fireworks that day, you could watch them from your room. CR rooms are quite large. We did spend more time watching tv or having snacks and even light meals in our room. There's a fairly large table where you can sit to eat.

The Mousekeeter Club was closed when we were there, but I believe CR guests can use the one at the Poly or GF.
