Activities at AKV for kids

We were able to get a one bedroom concierge for our first stay at home before we cruise. We decided to spend those two days Dec 22-24 at the resort and not do any parks and just loaf around etc. I have read some threads where there are activities for the kids that earns them beads. Does anyone have more info about it and any other things kids can do at the hotel besides swimming?

We were at AKV in December this past year, and there were activities like making a Christmas ornament in the lobby at set times.

They have the "Bead Activities" (that are free) and if I remember correctly there are 5 in all. Some were the "Flamingo Activity", "Music of the Savanna", "Animal Tracking Activity" (I can't remember the others & can't find the flyer we saved) They occur at different times and places throughout the day so if you miss one on a particular day of your stay you can catch it the next day. After completing each activity the child is given an African bead that the CMs will tie on a piece of twine (it ends up being about the size of a bracelet). It a nice souvenir. They have story telling at night by the fire pit. The have 'night vision goggle viewing' of the animals on the Arusha savanna each night. They have craft-y activities that the lifeguards run in the pool area (some of those are for a fee $). And I think they have daily activities by and in the pool with the lifeguards. There is also an arcade (big surprise ). They have tons of things for children to do. Our kids really enjoyed the resort!
