Activating Miltary Salute

Hi all:

I have my 4 day military salute tix entered into MDE. I know we have to activate them, where the military person is there with ID and all of us. Do you know if you can do this at a water park? Or dies it have to be at a theme park?

You should be able to anywhere there is a guest relations at park entrance. BTW, are you able to make FP+ selections with your link tickets prior to them being activated? Just curious.

MattRyan - We also have the Military Salute vouchers linked to MDE and we were able to make FP+ selections.

We have activated our military tickets at both BB and TL over the past couple of years.

I actually just called disney and asked about activating the tickets and the person told me that if they are linked to MDE then they should already be on my magic band. Not sure if this is accurate info or not. She said that we used to have to do it that way, but now that its on the bands it's not necessary. I find this a little hard to believe since they need to verify my military ID. Anyone have any experience with this yet?

In the past we have always had to physically activate them....

recently someone on here reported that they linked their military tickets to their MDE account and used them on their MB without activating them....

That's good to know. Hopefully, it works that way for us too. I may still go to downtown disney the night before to activate just to be on the safe side.

We were there in Dec with the 4 day Military Salute tickets. We linked them to our MBs and made our FP selections but we still had to "activate" them before entering a park.

Ok, thanks. So now my next question would be whether or not everyone has to be there for activating or can the military member just do it. That way my husband can go activate while the kids are sleeping the night before.

Only the ID card holder needs to be there to activate them. DH activated ours at the TTC while I sat in the car with the kids. We were told by Shades of Green to use the TTC to activate because sometimes the waterpark (our first stop) messes them up. It probably took him 10 minutes or less.

Before the age of MBs, our arrival day would involve going to SOG first, getting out military salute tickets, put on out swim suits is a SOG bathroom, drive to TL or BB, and activate our tickets there right before walking into the waterpark. We never had any issues with WP accuracy during the activation process.

On a separate note, when the military person activates the ticket for someone who is not physically present, they have to know specific things about the absent person so the data is accurate. My memory is not perfect, but I think you may need to know the address, birthdate, and phone number of each person. That may not be hard if you are all family, but if one of the family friends is not present, it may be tough to provide all the required information.
