I received a free three-day ticket that must be activated the first day of use. We will be staying at the HRH but want to activate it in time to take advantage if the IOA early entry. Does anyone know if it is possible to activate the ticket that morning before 8:00? I cannot activate it the day before as it would count as one of the days used.

Tickets must be activated at the gate so when you arrive at the park and go through the turnstile, that will activate the ticket. You can't do it before the gates are open. I don't know if you go through the turnstile when doing early entry but if so, you're good.

My free miitary ticket states it has to be presented at a ticket window with a valid miilitary ID. Do you know if they will be open before the early entry hour for on-site hotel guests? The ticket we purchased for my wife does not need to be activated in advance.

Yes, guest services and the ticket windows are open.

Thanks, is Guest Services outside the park? I heard the ticket boots can have very long waits. I would like to exchange it the day we arrive for use the next day but this is not allowed with the free military ticket. I'm thinking of not using the ticket and just buying a regular so I don't have to miss out on early morning park time and activate it before going in.

guest services open 30 minutes prior to park opening.

there are guest services outside and inside the parks.

Thanks! I think I'll just discard the ticket and purchase one. This way I'll be able to take advantage of the full early entry hour at IOA instead of having activate it and lose a lot of time. The three day ticket they gave me will only cost me $130 which well worth not losing park time.

I think it depends on when you are going, whether you want to do that. I have never had a long line to activate a ticket before early entry, I usually walk right up with no one in line, but then again I usually go during slow times.

One thing that befuddles me is that on the rare occasion that there seems to be a significant line going, I will usually look over to the set of ticket booths on the left and will see no one in line at the one or two booths that are open with no wait. Seems everyone automatically flocks to the set of booths on the right without checking the ones on the left. Anyone else notice this?

I emailed Universal Studios and they called me today. The ticket booths open at 7:30 which gives me time to get it activated and still get in before 8:00.

correct.

i guess you didn't see my above post, guest services opens 30 minutes prior to park openings.

you will be fine and have plenty of time to handle activating your pass.

i hope you and your group have a great time in the parks!!

I saw your post, but didn't know if the windows would open at 7:30 or 8:30 as the park does not open until 9:00.

you'd toss a $130 ticket for a few minutes of time?

more power to ya bro . . .

oh sorry.
since the parks (IOA) open at 8:00 for the early entry hotel guests, gs also opens that 30 minutes prior, which would be 7:30.

I was prepared to buy a ticket to take advantage of the early entry. I don't need to now though.
