Activating AP?

I have a new AP linked to my MDE account - probably a silly question, but will it just automatically activate the first time I use it, so I can literally just walk up to the park and scan my magicband and I'm good to go?

But I'll also be able to still book my FP+ at the window despite the AP not yet being used?

To activate it you'll need to stop by guest services. You can do this at any of the parks or at Disney springs.

As long as your pass is attached to your mde account, you can make FP's ahead of time. It doesn't need to be activated yet for FP's to be made

Yes, you can still book FP. When you get to the parks, you need to go to Guest Services which is at Disney Springs or any of the parks. The hotels can't activate AP's.

We have always needed to take a hard copy of our email confirming that we purchased AP's, along with photo ID.

When we activated our APs at the Epcot International Gateway entrance in June we were asked for photo IDs, the confirmation page we received via email, and the credit card we used to purchase the APs. They also scanned our Magic Bands.

Bring your magic bands that are linked to your account, ID, and the card used to purchase the AP(s)

If you have a smart phone then no need to print out the confirmation email. They likely won't need it but if they do you can have it ready on your phone.

When I activated mine back in February I believe all they needed was my ID.

All I've ever used is my ID and credit card and MB, my son got a new one last year and the same for him, no printed copy of confirmation since it's already hooked to MDE.

I can't even remember which card they were bought on! We ordered them well over a year ago...

Does anyone know if a UK driving licence will do the job for ID, or does it have to be a passport?

You must come to any ticket booth or Guest Relations location prior to entering a park for the first time with a brand new AP.

If you just bring the linked MagicBand and your valid, government-issued photo ID, it's sufficient. If you have the confirmation email, ID, and credit card used to purchase, it's better (in case of any kind of problem with the order, verification of ownership, etc).

All adults in the party must be physically present with their own valid ID. Some CMs will enforce the physically-present rule for children as well, but not many.

Discounts yes.
We never got any emails or snail mail until we activated but not sure if that's because we hadn't activated or it just takes times to get in the mailing lists. We didn't have months between purchases and activating. Just a couple of weeks.

Yes, IG has a guest services window and you can get your TIW card there.
