We have 3 AP vouchers that must be activated before 1/31/15. We don't have any plans to be in Disney before then. Can they be activated anywhere else close to that date? If not, can I take a brief trip and activate all 3 vouchers without my 2 daughters being present at Guest Relations?

They can only be activated at Disney- I believe they start once they are activated. If your daughters are minors you can activate them without them being present.

I would strongly advise you against taking a trip just to activate the vouchers, unless you are actually taking an extra vacation. Even if the vouchers were to expire, you retain the price you paid against a new ticket media. The money isn't lost, merely you would have to apply it against a new valid ticket media when you actually travel. Be that a DVC annual pass or day tickets, the money you actually paid is retained.

Call MS to confirm, but this was the advice given me by a very reliable ticketing CM about expiring vouchers in the past.

And I'm not so sure about your ability to activate all the vouchers without the minors in attendance. Just last week while on an adults-only trip, my wife and I tried to purchase military tickets for next year, so we could use FP+ from home (we don't live near a base). We couldn't buy them for more than the two of us, without the kids actually present, even though they are on my DVC and MDE accounts. I'd worry about the same scenario for activating your vouchers.
